Center stage

Tonight's gubernatorial debate on WPTZ (8-9 p.m.), broadcast live from the Echo Center in Burlington, could be the last one before the free-for-all, every-candidate-for-every-office under-the-sun VPT debate just before the election.

There's an interfaith council one that's supposed to happen next week, but it seems unclear whether the three candidates will all be there.

What point would you like to see a candidate make?

What question are you hoping to have answered?

Comments:
Ask Gaye Symington why the other democratic state office holders aren't supporting her?

Why is it sometimes you feel like a nut and sometimes you don't?

Who is Gayle Simmington?

John McCain promised Jim Douglas he would visit Vermont during the general election campaign. Does he keep his promises?

Ask Doogie what excuse he's gonna make for Vt Yankee after the latest fiasco and if he'll at least keep Bush from darkening our door now that the two of them have wrecked the US and Vermont economies respectively.

How DID they get those eight great tomatoes in that itty-bitty can?

When will it be over?

James Douglas is actually a robot.

Please let it be over!!!!!

I actually would believe where those little Keeblers come from.

ASk Jim Douglas to answer all questions without pointing a finger to someone else and saying it's their fault.

Jim promised us jobs - what we have now is the highest unemployment in VT since 1993 --- oh, I forgot, it's someone else's fault!

It always is. It always will be.

Trying to follow Gaye's train of thought during a debate is impossible. Last night she stammered around so much that she ended up saying employers were helping employers. I can't watch anymore. Make it end.

She is pitiful. Is it any wonder why the rest of the Dem Leadership fails to campaign aggressively for her?

It does make you wonder what they were thinking when they supported her candidacy.

It makes you believe the State Democratic Party is really a group of closet Republicans.

Douglas is pitiful. Is it any wonder why the rest of the Republican leadership fails to campaign aggressively for him?

Oh, there is no Republican leadership in this state. Nevermind.

And clearly there is NO Democratic leadership!

NONE
