Disagreeing with the senator from Vt.

Bear with this tidbit from today's White House press conference. The payoff is there at the end.

Q Two questions. Last week, Senator Leahy told the American Constitution Society -- and this is a quote -- "We need a President who has actually read the Constitution, understands the Constitution, and will respect the Constitution." Now, my question: Aside from this slur that the President has neither read nor understands the Constitution, how does the President imagine that this Judiciary Committee Chairman can expect any respect for what Mr. Leahy alleges is neither read by, nor understood by the President?
MR. TONY FRATTO (White House spokesman): Les, I'm not sure I followed the whole line of the question, but let me just say, the President has read and is sworn to defend and protect the Constitution, and he does that.
Q Senator Leahy also said the Guantanamo decision was a stinging rebuke of the Bush administration. "I'm in support of the Constitution of the USA. If we turn our backs on the Constitution where would we be?" And my question: How can this be interpreted as anything but a charge that the President has turned his back on the Constitution? And is that either accurate or fair?
MR. FRATTO: Again, I think you lost me somewhere along the long line of that question. I'll just tell you that we expressed our views on the Boumediene decision. We disagreed with it. The President said he would --
Q And you disagree very strongly with the Senator from Vermont, don't you?
MR. FRATTO: But that's usually where we are, is disagreeing with the Senator from Vermont.

- Erin Kelly

Comments:
A lot of Vermonters disagree with the Senator from Vermont. This court decision is not a set back for only Bush, it is a set back for all the citizens of the US. War criminals now have the same rights as a shop lifter.

Are you kidding me?

Leahy wins election with overwhelming results!

And I trust Leahy's interpretation of the constitution much more than the President's - who has done nothing but make our country less safe and the ridicule of the world.

GWB has set US diplomacy back by at least 20 years.

Ask Daniel Pearl's wife or Eugene Armstrong's family if they got a fair trial before their heads were cut off. Has any American prisoner EVER received the judicial treatment that we must now afford terrorists who have absolutely no guilt when bombing innocent victims- including children.
If we are less safe- how many attacks have we had since 9/11? (and the anthrax scare isn't one of them)
GWB may have set back our diplomacy but he is looking out for the citizens of the US who he took an oath to defend over the defending of terrorists which the activist judges think have equal status as US citizens.

And once again, nekkie boy, given the fact that he's been Senator since the previous holder of the most corrupt, criminal President in history jumped before he got pushed - and he was a boy scout compared to this incompetent, brain-dead bush-league, illegitimate-trash punk - and he's never been tested since, clearly, a hell of a lot more don't buy your brain-dead gop-slop, nekwit-nonsense.

Clearly, your factually-challenged/fundamentally-dishonest, ignorant-trash with bupkis point of view is not the prevailing wisdom in Vermont.

Then again, that's bound to happen in when a State makes a commitment to education. Whenever and wherever that happens, the dumb, the scum and the bums bearing bupkis ain't long for this world.

What's more, I hate to add insult to your mortally-ignorant injury, moron, but Bernie got the legendary Oilman T-Boone Pickens to confess that "we can't drill our way out of this fix" incompetent gop trash have gotten us into, before going on to add that the US hit peak oil production in 1970, we're in a crisis situation and it's time to the Eisenhower Interstate Route, get crackin' on alternatives and let petroleum products go the way of way of Whale Oil.

Moreover, he got him to say it on C-SPAN under oath, too.

This just ain't your day, little factually-challenged fella. Gee, that's a shame.

Take it where the climate suits your sheet, schmuck.

Always a pleasure.
Dismissed.

"How many attacks since 9/11" is such a bogus question!

And you are way off base to link the awful deaths of Daniel Pearl and Eugene Armstrong to Laehy.

Their deaths were despicable but Leahy and his views had absolutely nothing to do with it.

I'm really sorry for you and others who feel that we should forego constitutional rights for the greater good.

NEK is a buffoon. His posts are laughable.

Pat Leahy is much more in tune with Vermonters than Jim Douglas.

Jim Douglas is plain out of touch with mainstream Vermonters.

Bernie, Coop and Boone Pickens are against drilling for oil- but...
http://www.americansolutions.com
over 860,000 have signed the petition in less than 2 weeks to "drill here, drill now and pay less".
I don't know what your using to run your car Coop but if it was b---s--- you wouldn't have to worry- you could share with the neighborhood.
Constitutional rights are cherished by most conservatives (the buffoons of the world) and we expect the Supremes to rule by the Constitution, not try to interpret what it could/should have been.

Enjoy your KOOL AID!

NEK has left a new comment on the post "Disagreeing with the senator

"Bernie, Coop and Boone Pickens are against drilling for oil- but..."

But, nothin', nekkie boy. Is your ignorant, anonymous ass gonna tell me Boone Pickens is a long-time Liberal Democrat who knows nothin' about drillin' for oil now!!

Good luck makin' that case, clueless.

No sale, schmuck. You're dumb, you're scum bupkis. As always, your streak remains intact.

In other words, you're dumb, you're scum and ya got bupkis.

Thanks for clearin' that up, nekwit.

Gee, Clueless Kudlow dredges up 860,000 clueless cretins to buy his snake oil, sign his ignorant-trash petition in less than two weeks, eh?

Gee, just think how many he'd get if he promised everybody free beer and 72 supermodels BEFORE they get to heaven!

Go cheney yourself, chump.

I'm not buyin' Kudlow's latest supply-side psychosis any more than I'm buyin' his comb-over. The guy's batting average may be even worse than yours and clueless mcclaughry's, nekwit.

He's got as good a shot at that as he does at his petition promises.

What a schmuck. The least he could do is make Charles Krauthammer the second-coming of Willie Mays and have him bat third and play centerfield for the Washington Nationals for the next 30 years.

Krauthammer's got as good a shot at that as Kudlow

Hey, if he promised me 20 year-old knees and eternal youth, I just might sign it, too.

"Constitutional rights are cherished by most conservatives (the buffoons
of the world)...."

Conservatives cherish Constitutional Rights, eh? That must be why they're always tryin' to deny everybody else theirs.

Nekkie boy, your ignorant, ill-informed, factually-challenged ass still can't even muster 3/5 of a point, putz.

Once again, I hate to confuse your ignorant ass with the facts, neekie boy, but conservatives are the ignorant, ill-informed, bigoted-trash buffoons who gave us the Depression, Appeasement, WWII, The first Reagan/Bush Recession, the first Reagan/Bush Deficit and the corresponding record National Debt, Iran-Contra, the second Bush Recession and read my lips rubbish, bogus impeachment charges from a corrupt, criminally-incompetent gop-scum Congress, illegitimate trash in the White House, the second Bush Recession, the second Bush Deficit - complete with unprecedented National Debt - greater than all of his 42 predecessors combined, the 9/11 Attacks, the War in Iraq, Katrina, Gitmo, Gonzo and enough scandal for another bad Billy Joel album about reagan fires and burning bushes, but even your ignorant ass should get the picture by now, so before another bush spontaneously combusts and starts another fire, get your ignorant ass a case and a clue.

"and we expect the Supremes to rule by the Constitution,
not try to interpret what it could/should have been."

Ya mean like Bush V Gore - the one and only Supreme Court Decision in US History that applies to only one circumstance and legally - can't be cited as precedent in any future cases, nekwit.

It's a gop court, schmuck. An even more conservative Court than the gop court that put shrub on the throne. You lost in a gop court. Seven out of the nine Justices on the Court are gop appointees and shrub still lost.

Enjoy your KOOL AID!

Always a pleasure.

Like I said, enough b--- s--- to supply the next street over. Remember, it still takes 24 to make a dozen in your circle of halfwits!
I never said Pickens was a Dem, but I am surprised you didn't see through his statement- the oil barons don't want to drill in this country- they won't be able to control the flow.

Leahy "inadvertently" disclosed a top-secret communications intercept during a 1985 television interview. The intercept had made possible the capture of the Arab terrorists who had hijacked the cruise ship Achille Lauro and murdered American citizens. But Leahy's leak cost the life of at least one Egyptian "asset" involved in the operation.

In July 1987, it was reported that Leahy leaked secret information to a reporter about a 1986 covert operation planned by the Reagan administration to topple Libya's Muammar al-Gaddafi. US intelligence officials stated that Leahy sent a written threat to expose the operation directly to then-CIA Director William Casey. Weeks later, news of the secret plan turned up in the Washington Post, causing it to be aborted.

Leahy resigned from his position as Vice Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee after an investigation into this alleged leak.

"Like I said, enough b--- s--- to supply the next street over...."

Well, I'm sure your folks are very proud of your ignorant ass, nekkie boy.

"...I never said Pickens was a Dem, but I am surprised you didn't see through his statement- the oil barons don't want to drill in this
country- they won't be able to control the flow."

Really? And what legislation has been passed that would give them a different deal than comparable leases gave them in the past and when was that legislation passed, little factually-challenged/fundamentally-dishonest fella?

Moreover, for the sake of argument and because I'm enjoying shooting ignorant-trash with bupkis fish in a barrel, in the unlikely event that what you say has so much as a shred of truth to it, given those facts, why the fook would we give them the mineral rights to Federal Lands belonging to the American People and their descendants now and for all time as it did for our ancestors along with the keys to the store and the kingdom if they're gonna "control the flow", as you so psychotically said it, schmuck?

That's what I thought.

Pickens said "we can't drill our way out of this." Moreover, he said it under oath and it's recorded in the Congressional Record.

That is the headline. That is the relevant quote.

As usual, in the absence of any any and all evidence to substantiate your delusional dreck, you can engage in your factually-challenged fascist fantasies, read between the lines and pretend to divine what he really meant to say all ya want, nekwit.

Hey, it's not like the facts are doin' ya any favors. Knock yourself out. Save me the bother.

Always a pleasure.

capture of the Arab terrorists who had hijacked the cruise ship Achille
Lauro and murdered American citizens. But Leahy's leak cost the life of

Really? According to whom?

That's what I thought.

"In July 1987, it was reported that Leahy leaked secret information to a
reporter about a 1986 covert operation planned by the Reagan
administration to topple Libya's Muammar al-Gaddafi. US intelligence

They reported that, eh? These are some of the same schmucks that reported that Saddam had links to 9/11, had WMD, they knew where it was and that their case was so airtight, "it was a slam-dunk."

How's that workin' out for your boys, nekwit?

That's what I thought.

How many times have the people of Vermont reelected Pat Leahy since 1985, nekkie boy?

I hate to confuse your ignorant ass with the facts yet again, nekkie boy, but Reagan was runnin' up Deficits, trading arms for Hostages with Iraq and secretly and illegally aiding, funding and arming the Contras in the White House and the Gops controlled the Senate in '85?

Moreover, Bush the first Bush injustice department had cracks at him until 1/93. If they had anything on Leahy, what was stoppin' them from going after him if they had anything on him?

Scooter the Scumbag was found guilty on four of five felony counts by a Shrub-appointed Prosecutor in a trial presided over by a Bush-Appointed Judge when the gops still had control of Congress.

Martha Stewart did time for less than any one count Scooter was convicted on, schmuck.

Again, if Reagan/Bush had anything on Leahy, what prevented their corrupt Iran/Contra asses from nailing him to the wall?

How many counts was Leahy convicted on? How much time did he do?

That's what I thought.

Given the fact that Leahy was never charged let alone convicted of anything and - according to the same WIKI source you've cited - he's been overwhelmingly reelected in 1986, 1992, 1998, and 2004, clearly, the people of Vermont don't give a damn what drug-addled, Doctor-shoppin', ignorant-trash with bupkis talk show trash like Limbaugh call him and they ain't buyin' your buyin' your brain-dead bupkis any more than I am.

Which, of course, leaves Leahy the Senior Senator from the State of Vermont and Chairman of the very same Senate Judiciary Committee that forced gonzo out and the US Constitution back in that Scott McClellan has agreed to testify under oath before on matters pertaining to Plame and the White House's role in her outing.

That, of course, leaves your ignorant ass dumb, scum with bupkis.

Always a pleasure.

Coopy is back(seemingly off his meds). Apparently he is no longer grounded and his mom has given him his internet privleges back.

Nothing new in his posts...just the same cut and paste from the party playbook. Still no solutions, just insults.

Coopy when will you be sharing your smarts with us and tell us your plan to solve the energy crisis. Clearly an educated guy like you has figured it out.

NEK is a buffoon. His posts are laughable.
Is this the same blogger who insists it is silly to drill for a finite supply of oil? Most experts agree (not the protectionists) that there is more oil and natural gas reserves in the US and off shore than all of the Middle East.
We should not be "giving" the oil proceeds to anyone who drills. The US owns that resource and should be paid for the oil. It makes more sense than sending billions $$ to the Middle East each day.

Still can't get a handle on that spelling thing, eh, little factually-challenged fella? Well, repeating the second grade hasn't killed ya yet. The fifth time could be the charm for ya, chuckles.

Get your ignorant, anonymous ass some new nameless-nitwit nonsense to cut and paste, putz.

You're dumb, you're scum, ya got bupkis, schmuck. There's no "seemingly" about it.

No, that would be T Boone Pickens and everyone else who can distinguish their ass from their elbow who's not on the oil company payroll.

Does all our existing Alaska oil stay in this Country, nekkie boy?

That's what I thought.

You're dumb, you're scum and ya got bupkis.

Take it where the climate suits your sheet.

Dismissed.

Does all our existing Alaska oil stay in this Country, nekkie boy?

YES The equivalent amount stays in the US.

Your the self proclaimed expert and you should know better. Because of logistics, we swap oil from Alaska (going to Japan) for equal amounts from oil sources closer to continental US.

It does, eh? Then I'm sure your ignorant ass will be only to happy to provide any and all evidence in support of your latest lunatic-fringe, coalition of the clueless-cretin contention.

That's what I thought.

Really? Evidence?

In other words, you're dumb, you're scum and ya got bupkis.

I'm shocked.

First of all, nekwit, that would be "You're the self-proclaimed expert..."

You're welcome.

Secondly, you've got no evidence to support your psychotic slop. You and your coalition of the clueless cretin comrades never do. I'm never required to employ my expertise to see that, schmuck.

Bush is quoted by three witnesses as saying " Quit throwing the Constitution in my face, it's just a goddam piece of paper."

Clearly, it's just a piece of toilet paper to him and most gops.

Question:
Since when did the US Constitution become the International Constitution?

Answer:
Since the activist judges took over the Court.

US is the Saudi Arabia of coal. The idea of coal gasification is one that needs to be looked at seriously. It could save us. ANWR's reserves, if drilling began today, would not be relaizzed until 2018!

Nothing worse than a retired english teacher, unless it is a retired history teacher!
Or maybe a 1st grade teacher that likes to cut and paste!

Well- does the shoe fit?

Coop... Be something other than a no-valued added loudmouth.

Quit dodging the call for your solution to the energy problem. You are a self-proclaimed smart guy. What is the answer or haven't you been given the pre-approved party talking points to cut and paste over and over and over and over and over?

Constantly avoiding this can only lead us to conclude you are either chicken to present and defend your view or as most of us suspect you have nothing constructive to say

C'mon big guy.

Nek..

"Well- does the shoe fit?"

Yeah, thanks for the suggestion, schmuck. Damned if my boot doesn't look good up your ignorant, ill-informed ass, nekkie boy. Good call. I'm proud of ya, putz.

Christ, schmuck. Your ignorant, ill-informed anonymous ass can't even mindlessly insult me without crappin' your pants and pissin' all over yourself.

Relax, schmuck. Your job is safe. Clearly, you've got it for this life and most of the next two or three before they can cut ya.

You're welcome.

Clearly, you're ignorant, ill-informed ass is well-suited to gop-dumb.

I'm sorry you did not enjoy eduction and reality, but, nevertheless, you seem to have found your niche. I'm happy for you that, like your coalition of the clueless compatriots, you've found a rock to slither under and call home.

Thanks for the trite insults, Coopy but I still don't see your plan. When does the new approved cut and paste playbook arrive?

Reality's been here all along, little factually-challenged/fundamentally-dishonest nameless-nitwit fella. It's just that, like most gops, your ignorant anonymous ass has been avoiding it.

"You are a real tough guy but apparently one with no credible plan to offer."

Thanks for the progress report, little fella.

"Coop is becoming a more fitting name for you every day. Don't chickens live in coops?"

No, they live in the White House the Pentagon and radio studios when they're not vacationing in Crawford, exploring their other priorities in Wyoming or strung-out on Oxycontin and getting busted for doctor shopping in Florida.

Then, of course, there's your ignorant anonymous ass, little fella.

Nice try, schmuck.

More insults but no energy plan.... how about some substance big guy. When does the new party playbook arrive?

As gas prices continue to increase, Congress continues to blame others while ignoring practical steps to stop the pain Americans are feeling at the pump. To lower gasoline prices and reduce our dependence on foreign oil, we need real solutions to our energy challenges.

1,105,766 have signed the American Solutions petition to Drill Here, Drill Now and Pay Less.

Not bad for a few weeks work.

Coopy take note. This this how really concerned citizens collaborate to solve difficult problems. Read the petition. There is not one insult in it.

While you are at it, maybe you want to sign it too.
