Leahy on Obama escort team

News flash.

Gov. Jim Douglas will not be the only Vermonter getting a bit of face time on TV tonight when President Obama makes his first speech to a joint session of Congress.

Sen. Patrick Leahy's office announced this afternoon that Leahy has been tapped to be on the team of Senators and House members who will escort the president into the House chamber before his speech.

Wonder if Leahy will use the opportunity to tout his Truth (or consequences) Committee idea to the president...

Leahy can now add escort service under movie star on his resume. Maybe now he can return to his full time mission- witch hunting!
Douglas has spent quite a bit of time in Washington lately- any chance he could pull a Jim Jeffords?
