Obama in, but is Clinton out?

Sen. Barack Obama is taking control of the Democratic presidential bus tonight. Here's the question for you: If he were to choose Hillary Clinton as his running mate would it be a formidable one-two punch that would heal a scarred Democratic Party or would it run entirely contrary to what attracted many people to Obama in the first place?

Note this from the Associated Press tonight:

Hillary Rodham Clinton told colleagues Tuesday she would consider joining Barack Obama as his running mate, and advisers said she was withholding a formal departure from the race partly to use her remaining leverage to press for a spot on the ticket.

- Terri Hallenbeck

Comments:
who could trust either one after this "hillarious" campaign season? Neither one of these people come even close to representing my values and neither one is trustworthy.

Obama will not select Hillary as his running mate. To do so would mean that he would have to drag Bill's baggage around all summer and fall. Without Bill, Hillary would probably have been the nominee. She should have dumped him long ago.

"who could trust either one after this "hillarious" campaign season? Neither one of these people come even close to representing my values and neither one is trustworthy."

Ignorance and bigotry as "values", eh? That's a good one little factually-challenged fella.

Well, Barack's just gonna have to win without the ignorant anonymous trash vote.

Then again, that is McSame's base, so I tend to doubt that he was really countin' on the scum vote, schmuck.

Always a pleasure.

Dismissed.

McCain / Dole '08 !

Terri:

Can't find actual election results for Montana and South Dakota in any of major news outlets on line. Possible to provide these numbers?

Terri:

Thanks. I found the results through WPTZ's website.

Surrender Shrillary!

McCain/Clinton in '08.... real change, real bi-partisanship, real experience ...the Dream Team!

McCain & Hillary ... Washington insiders offering more of the same ...

Obama can talk about change all he wants but will be consumed by the existing power base in Washington.

McCain/Clinton offers a true bi-partisan solution, experience in the issues and the proven ability to navigate the system. After all isn't it all the partisan politics that frustrates us all?

Whether you like it or not, the 'system' exists and it takes experience to work it.

In a year where change is the operative word, I can't imagine a bigger change that could be offered to the country than a bi-partisan ticket with real leaders.

First of all, McCain has routinely trashed Hillary Clinton and her policies. The two have nothing in common.

Second, McCain is a delusional war hawk who openly admits that he wants to keep us in Iraq for decades.

McCain wants to stay the course. That just isn't a realistic option.

Anyone see McCain's speach last night? It was so bad that even the boys at FOX news were trashing it.

Have a look on YouTube. It's easily one of the worst speaches in the history of Presidential politics.

"Obama can talk about change all he wants but will be consumed by the existing power base in Washington."

And McCain and Hillary won't? How so, little fella? They're all Senators and McCain's already in the steadily shrinking minority that's about to get even smaller.

Explain.

"McCain/Clinton offers a true bi-partisan solution, experience in the issues and the proven ability to navigate the system. After all isn't it all the partisan politics that frustrates us all?"

McCain votes with Bush 98 percent of the time. Where's the change, schmuck?

"Whether you like it or not, the 'system' exists and it takes experience to work it."

Yeah, and like TM Day, Obama beat Hillary and he's gonna thump McCain.

"In a year where change is the operative word, I can't imagine a bigger change that could be offered to the country than a bi-partisan ticket with real leaders."

Well given the fact that you're utterly psychotic, I'm sure your ignorant anonymous ass will come up with some other delusional dreck soon enough, little factually-challenged fella.

I've got faith in ya.

Always a pleasure.

Dismissed.

OBAMA '08

He's the man!!!!

Reasons McCain won't pick Hillary:

1) Republicans hate Hillary.
2) Hillary is pro-choice
3) Bill Clinton
4) Religious right does not trust McCain. He needs a right winger in the #2 spot in order to win their support

There are about a million more ...

"...There are about a million more ..."

Well, we'll just add them to the 7 billion reasons McCain shouldn't be President.

Hillary is trying to use leverage to get Obama to pay off her campaign debts- typical liberal- they need OPM- it would be a shame if they had to use their own money!

NEK ...

"Hillary is trying to use leverage to get Obama to pay off her campaign debts- typical liberal- they need OPM- it would be a shame if they had to use their own money!"

Ya mean like McCain is doing now, nekkie boy? Can your ignorant, ill-informed ass imagine if McCain had to hold fundraisers that Bush spoke at! Christ! They'd have to close the doors to the public and have a media blackout.

Good thing McCain would never go for that, little factually-challenged fella. Again.

Always a pleasure.

Dismissed.

NEK is McCain is using his own money to pay for his campaign???

Here is a hint: Nope.

McCain is not asking his opponent to pay his way!
How would you feel if you contributed to Obama's campaign and found out he is giving it to Hillary?

Obama is the Pied Piper of the left and he has done a great job saying all the right things and mesmerizing his followers. I know all he says he can do and it would be great if he could accomplish a fraction of what he claims;however, can anyone tell me what he has accomplished so far in his political career?

Please list and substantiate the 7 billion reasons Coopy. Show us the proof of your statement.

John "Keating Five" McCain ... whose campaign is run by lobbyists.

Just what American needs.

You are right about McCain and the Keating five- the other four Senators were Democrats.
Are all lobbyists crooks? Ask Leahy- he has close relatives who are Wash lobbyists.

I won't vote for the four Dems either.

McCain is scum.

Hilary is so trust worthy ... Did you see her ducking from the sounds of explosions when she got off the plane? Maybe that brought her to tears ... She is certainly not the right man for the job ...

Is your next post going to say that we shouldn't vote for Ron Paul, Chris Dodd, Mitt Romney and John Edwards??

One thing is certain: I'm NOT voting for Jack Kemp.

NEK...

Sure thing, nekkie boy.

According to the Congressional Record (www.thomas.gov), in a nut shell I found:

That's what I thought.

Always a pleasure.

I am impressed with your research except most did not come from the Congress.org site, it came from posts in the Daily Kos. The key word to all this legislation is CO-SPONSORED. Any legislator can co-sponsor a bill and most do so they can be reciprocated.
What the Daily Kos doesn't tell you is Obama's voting record is the most liberal in the Senate- which I am sure doesn't bother you but it does to a lot of us.

NEK...

"I am impressed with your research except most did not come from the Congress.org site, it came from posts in the Daily Kos. The key word to all this legislation is CO-SPONSORED."

Gee, ya mean like, oh, say, McCain-Feingold or McCain-Lieberman, for example, nekkie boy?

Nice try, schmuck.

Feel free to list all the single-sponsor legislation to come out of Congress in the past 20 years, little fella. Now list all the co-sponsored Legislation during that time frame. Which is the greater number?

That's what I thought.

Is it your clueless-cretin contention that the info posted by the DK is not from the Congress.org site or inaccurate in some way, little factually-challenged fella?

If so, feel free to make your case.

"Any legislator can co-sponsor a bill and most do so they can be reciprocated.
What the Daily Kos doesn't tell you is Obama's voting record is the most liberal in the Senate- which I am sure doesn't bother you but it does to a lot of us."

The facts usually do bother you and your coalition of the clueless compatriots, little fella. Ya best get used to it, sport, the wing-nut-nonsense forecast calls for pain.

Really? The most liberal, eh? According to whom, Fixed News?

You're gonna have to do better than your factually-challenged/fundamentally-dishonest ignorant-trash word on the matter, nekkie boy, and that's a hurdle your ignorant ass has yet to clear.

Always a pleasure.

McCain could be great. Obama could be great. Potential is there but is the courage to do what is needed there?

Obama is "most liberal" according to the ultra partisan rag -- the National Journal.

They ranked him as more liberal because he votes for things like ethics reform for congress.

They also didn't include all 100 senators in their evaluation. (they didn't rank McCain.)

Dear God ... I know you libs don't like hearing that either ... It amazes me what false representation of facts occur on a blog site.

Coop you are dismissed and your misinformed arguments are indeed contempt before realization. People like you that spout allegations as if they are fact are very dangerous. You need to relax and be open minded or else have something to truly love ... that alone would give you responsibility and change your moral compass. Dismissed.

"McCain could be great. Obama could be great. Potential is there but is the courage to do what is needed there?"

Well, don't you have the anonymous courage of your nameless-nitwit convictions, little grow a pair fella.

Gee, talk about goin' out on a limb, there. Way to take a stand, little fella!

Either one could be great if they have the COURAGE to do some nebulous, unspecified "needed" thing in the eyes of some spineless, obsequious schmuck who feels the need to remain nameless.

Boy, your back must be killin' ya from carryin' those brass ones around all the time and what does your nameless-nitwit ass do to keep 'em shiny and deal with that troublesome tarnish thing, little stoneless-nameless-nitwit fella?

Then again, ya can always blame it one of the other anonymous posters, so you're covered and your sorry, spineless butt can't get into too much trouble.

Well played. I can see why you feel the need to remain nameless.

Realization, eh? Realization of what, little fella? Just what allegedly "misinformed arguments" would those be, little factually-challenged fella? Enlighten me, nameless-nitwit.

Open to what, little fella? Brain-dead bupkis with no basis in fact?

Thanks, I'll pass. Empty calories don't do it for me, little fella. Either does your empty-headed horsebrit.

Gee, moral compass lessons from ignorant trash with bupkis. Talk about your after school specials.

Your ignorant, anonymous ass hasn't cited one fact in your entire post, schmuck. All you've done is make bogus allegations against me you can't substantiate.

Of course, that makes you just like every other nameless nitwit spewin' specious anonymous slop hangin' their horsebrit hat here.

Them's the facts, little fella.

Coop lists a number of bills that he gives Obama credit for introducing since he has been in the Senate but Coop does his research on Daily Kos.
Check the bills Obama has introduced in legitimate sources and you will see he has 1 enacted bill to his credit and that has to do with the Republic of the Congo.
He was only in the Senate for 2 years before he started campaigning and since Jan 2007 he has missed 80% of the votes. Prior to that he did add his name to 152 bills and 14 became law, Most bill writers get as many names as possible as co-sponsors. He introduced 4 others on his own that didn't get anywhere.
As for liberal voting records, several sites, both left and right, list liberal to conservative records, and Obama is ranked at the top in some and behind Sanders, Kennedy, Schuler and Boxer on others. As for the NFIB (which is not big business), Obama scored ZERO on their appropriate bills. IE, Obama does not like businesses, he likes BIG Government.

"Jan 2007 he has missed 80% of the votes"

Another Republican lie.

You better check again- this is a congressional record- Since Obama started campaigning in January 2007, he has missed 80% of all Senate votes.

You better check again. Use an actual source. Not the National Journal or Rush Lamebaugh.

Nice try, nekkie boy. No sale.

Actually, I did my research through Google. They linked to Kos. Kos linked to the Congressional Record.

You, on the other hand, linked to your usual nothing.

Once again, if you have evidence to the contrary, submit it. I'd be happy to have a look at it.

As for co-sponsored legislation, as I said previously, feel free to list all the single-sponsor legislation that's been enacted into law in the past 20 years. List all the co-sponsored legislation that's been enacted into law in the past 20 years. Which is the greater number?

"Sen. John McCain (R-Campaign Trail) missed another vote today on a resolution related to the Iraq war, skipping a procedural move on a war funding measure in favor of hitting the campaign trail in New York.

"In fact, McCain's missed vote today marked his fifth straight week without casting a vote on the Senate floor, with this morning's vote marking the 42nd straight roll call that he has missed.

"McCain's campaign said, "Regrettably, it is impossible for a presidential candidate to avoid missing votes."
