Chen a possible run for lt. gov

Rep. Harry Chen is said to be off hiking somewhere in the final stages of contemplating a run for lieutenant governor.

Chen is an emergency room doctor at Rutland Regional Medical Center who has been in the Legislature since 2003. He was vice chairman of the House Health Care Committee this past biennium. He's the one who reported the Catamount Health Plan bill on the House floor a few years ago, unflappably withstanding lengthy inquiry.

He certainly does not have the name recognition that incumbent Brian Dubie has, he'd offer a more viable candidacy than many expected the Democratic Party would come up with.

Why so many doctors think lt. gov. is the place to be is unclear (Deb Richter thought about it, then thought better of it. Howard Dean did it.).

Terri, Harry Chen may not have the name recognition of the immortal brian dubie, but he also doesn't have the reputation of job hunting everywhere but Vermont on the Vermont Taxpayer's Dime and unethically and illegally using Nonpartisan National Guard Concerts/Functions as partisan opportunities for enriching the political campaign coffers of the immortal brian dubie that comes with said name recognition.

Based on all accounts and available evidence, unlike Dubie, Chen is a qualified, competent man of integrity who would do a good job representing the people of Vermont as Lite Gov.

Additionally, unlike Dubie, he isn't scum.

What's not to like?

Henry Chen reports today he is sleeping much better these days now that JWCoop has endorsed his potential run for Lt. Gov. by saying "...unlike Dubie, he isn't scum."

Chen goes on to suggest he needs to locate this Coop character because every viable campaign needs an eloquent spokesperson.
