Compromising poses

Legislators appear to be all set for the end of the session this week.

In the Democratic caucus today, House Majority Leader Carolyn Partridge and Assistant Minority Leader Floyd Nease warned members about their behavior in these final long days.

Beware of becoming the subject of a news photo that features you yawning, sprawled head-over-your-desk asleep, reading a novel or shooting rubber bands. None of those poses are good for one's political career or the Legislature's reputation, they indicated.

Fear not, photographers. Push comes to shove, somebody won't be able to help him- or herself.

- Terri Hallenbeck

Comments:
I believe the correct term is "Assistant" Majority Leader.

Post number one reminds me of a joke. A freshman at Harvard on his first day asks another older student, "Hey, where's the library at?"

The older student sticks his nose in the air and responds, "At Harvard we don't end our sentences with prepostions."

So the freshman says, "Okay. Where's the library at, ass ----?"

What's the difference? Most Dems are asleep at the wheel most of the time any way.

In other words, you're ignorant trash with bupkis and ya don't know what the hell you're talkin' about.

Thanks for settin' the record straight, schmuck.

Always a pleasure.

Dismissed.

And thanks to you Coopy for adding your fair share of bupkis. As usual. No value.

Once again they are more concerned about their image than they are about the economy. If the Dems had something interesting to discuss, they wouldn't be putting their members asleep.

Needing to warn the legislature, speaks volumes for the value of a citizen legislature and why as a group nothing gets done session after session. We are in clear need of a legislature comprised of skilled and engaged professionals. Our state's problems are serious and need the attention of an equally skilled group in the statehouse.

I believe the correct term is Assistant "Majority" Leader (and I'll play along) ass!

Nease isn't in the minority.

In other words, ya still got no evidence to back up your ignorant slop.

Gee, I'm shocked.

Thanks for clearin' that up, little no case, no clue fella.

Always a chuckle. Always a pleasure.

And if your evidence in support of your latest factually-challenged/fundamentally-dishonest/lunatic-fringe allegation is.....?

That's what I thought.

What precisely has the Dem Legislature done to prevent Doogie the Dimmer from "helping" our economy, little fella?

That's what I thought.

You're ignorant trash with bupkis, schmuck. Get yourself a case and a clue or get used to it.

Always a pleasure.

Dismissed.

Read it yourself- Nease and Partridge want the legislators to look alert and don't play with rubber bands- -my teachers used to tell me the same thing back in the third grade! Is this the quality of legislators Vermont has?

yes it is a fair representation of the legislature.

Particularly of the Republican side of the aisle. They've been phoning it in since day one. They know they have no real power or influece, so they are left to twiddle their thumbs and make oragami animals.

"Read it yourself- Nease and Partridge want the legislators to look alert and don't play with rubber bands- -my teachers used to tell me the same thing back in the third grade!"

Yeah, 2006 was a very good year.

So, your third grade class was subject to intensive media scrutiny 24/7, eh, little factually-challenged/fundamentally-dishonest fella?

Yeah? And? Is this a bad thing? Do you want shots of the lunatic-fringe likes of Rick Hube scratchin' his ample, ignorant ass on the front page of the Freeps?

Tell me, simple-red, when your ignorant ass was fixin' to finish the third grade and head off to coalition of the clueless grad school, did your ignorant ass feel the need to look alert lest some girl you claimed had cooties might catch your ignorant ass waddin' up spit balls to throw at said teacher as she was writing on the blackboard on her cellphone camera?

Nice try, nitwit.

Moreover, is it your clueless-cretin contention that the jimi douglas experience is not complete without a picture of him scratchin' his clueless cabeza or stoneless crotch on the front page of the Freeps?

"Is this the quality of legislators Vermont has?"

No, it's only the quality of 51 members of the House.

No, it's a reflection of the fact that media scrutiny is greater than ever and some schmuck with a cell phone cam can always snap a shot of you to use as they see fit.

Reality, simple-red. Look into it. I'll get your ignorant ass a rate on a room.

Always a pleasure.

Dismissed.

If only that was the case. As long as the loyalty of the gop swine in the Vermont House is greater to doogie the dim and their party than it is to Vermont and they can peel off a couple of progs or indies to come with 'em for one reason or the other, they can prevent the Dems from passing Legislation supported by most Vermonters and and allow doogie the dimmer to keep doing to the State of Vermont what his boy Shrub has done to the Country.

jw is having another bad day - his hero Al Franken (tell us about Billo and Al and the judge again, jw) has been revealed to be just another left-wing lunatic fraud and tax-cheat in 17 different states (the last count)! Bye bye Senate, little moron! And of course, his OTHER loony-left hero was left mumbling, babbling, and drooling on himself yesterday trying to defend mini-Eichman pal Jeremiah Wright! So all in all, it's just been a BAD week for our resident psycho.

Well, keep your chin up, little bigot boy.

President Obama and a Dem Congress will bail your ignorant ass out.

Always a pleasure.

Wright was a Marine, what's AWOL Bush's excuse?

AWOL Bush? Is that you Dan Rather? Didn't that story blow up on you once already and cost you your job at CBS?

...and following the left wing playbook to a 'T', Franken immediately assigned blame. In this case, he blamed his accountant for not understanding the tax laws. One more liberal doing his best to dodge personal responsibility for his actions.

He will fit right in the Pelosi-Reid mafia.

How many counts has he been convicted on, little bigot boy?

That's what I thought.

"...and following the left wing playbook to a 'T', Franken immediately assigned blame."

Gee, ya mean he didn't enter a guilty plea and he's gonna force the IRS and the Justice Department to actually make a case against him, colonel klink?

That's gotta be a first.

"In this case, he blamed his accountant for not understanding the tax laws. One more liberal doing his best to dodge personal responsibility for his actions."

Ya mean like Bush lying us into a War on cooked intel, herr hatespeech?

Nice try.

"He will fit right in the Pelosi-Reid mafia."

Yeah, he'll be a nice addition to a filibuster-proof Democratic Senate and Dem Congress to assist President Obama in cleaning up the mess the ignorant, incompetent, illegitimate-trash scum currently squatting in the White House has left us.

Always a pleasure.

"Wright was a Marine, what's AWOL Bush's excuse?"

Same as Quayle, Cheney and the rest of the brain-dead, bushleaguer, chicken-slime squadron. He was solidly behind the War in Vietnam as long as he didn't actually have to fight in it and he had other priorities.

Remind us again, jw, which branch of the service were you in? The Campfire Girlie-men? Oh that's right, you were Exalted-Grand-Poobah-for-Life of the He-man-double-secret-women-haters club.

He was convicted on no counts because he conceded defeat and paid the IRS before they tried his sorry butt. What a chicken.

If he was so right why did he capitulate to the evil IRS? Was the thought of being a cellmate to Wesley Snipe too much to bear?

So I guess your point is maybe he isn't a tax convict but rather an insincere fraud of low moral character who will do whatever he can to cheat the Government out of a few dollars until of course they catch on to him in which case he will roll over, tremble like a girlie man and find a scapegoat to blame his actions on.

I think you are right JW. He is a typical left-wing girlie man.

No...more like Al Gore (a Dem) laying claim to inventing the internet.

...more like the phantom attack in the Gulf of Tonkin (wasn't that the Dem LBJ)

...more like the Huffington Post congratulating Obama on standing by J. Wright when he was campaigning in PA but then congratulating him on condemning J. Wright since it is now clear public opinion is working against him.

...more like Clinton keeping his head buried in the sand and denying the threat potential of Al Qaeda and the terrorist threat. How many lifes of how many sailors on the USS Cole did that cost us.

Didn't they try blowing up the World Trade Center once before?

....more like saying 'I never had realtions with that girl'

sort of like that...

Get this session over with - we haven't got anything done anyway.

"No...more like Al Gore (a Dem) laying claim to inventing the internet."

And just where and when did Al Gore claim to have "invented" the internet, little factually-challenged fella?

I'm sure your ignorant, ill-informed, Anti-American ass will be all too happy to produce copious amounts of evidence in support of your latest load of delusional dreck as you attempt to duck the issue of Bush lying us into a War in Iraq on the 5th Anniversary of "Mission Accomplished."

"...more like the phantom attack in the Gulf of Tonkin (wasn't that the Dem LBJ)

Feel free to produce any and all evidence of me supporting LBJ's actions in Vietnam in general and in the wake of the Gulf of Tonkin Incident, little fella.

Now feel free to produce any and all evidence of gop opposition to the War in Vietnam in general and in the wake of the Golf of Tonkin in particular, little fella.

Pack yourself a tent and a sleeping bag, schmuck. You're gonna need it.

"...more like the Huffington Post congratulating Obama on standing by J. Wright when he was campaigning in PA but then congratulating him on condemning J. Wright since it is now clear public opinion is working against him."

Evidence? That's what I thought.

"...more like Clinton keeping his head buried in the sand and denying the threat potential of Al Qaeda and the terrorist threat. How many lifes of how many sailors on the USS Cole did that cost us."

Considerably less than the number Bush has lost us in Iraq and Afghanistan, little fella.

What exactly did Bush do to retaliate against the bombing of the Cole, clueless?

That's what I thought.

"Didn't they try blowing up the World Trade Center once before?"

Yeah, unlike 9/11/01, they failed and they were caught, convicted and incarcerated.

Of course, if you have evidence of Clinton ignoring PDBs claiming Bin Laden determined to attack inside the US 5 weeks before the attacks and refusing to cut short his vacation so he could stay and play cowboy in Texas, then by all means, feel free to produce it.

That's what I thought.

Then again, Clinton might not have been sworn in as President 5 weeks before the '93 WTC attacks.

Always a pleasure.

Dismissed.

"He was convicted on no counts because he conceded defeat and paid the IRS before they tried his sorry butt. What a chicken."

So, apart from the fact that "He was convicted on no counts..." as you put it, if you take responsibility for your actions, face the consequences and pay the price, you're "a chicken" in the eyes of your ignorant ass, little factually-challenged fella?

That's an interesting take on personal responsibility you self-proclaimed champions of personal responsibility have there, little factually-challenged fella.

Then again, looking at Bush, clearly, you gop scum ain't big on personal responsibility.

"If he was so right why did he capitulate to the evil IRS? Was the thought of being a cellmate to Wesley Snipe too much to bear?"

If he was so unwilling to take responsibility for his actions or inactions, why'd he pay the fines, little fella?

That's what I thought.
