Hunger

One in seven Vermonters experience hunger. State's role?

JD: Grow an extra row and contribute to food shelf. Restarted Commission on Hunger.

GS: Grow extra row = short-term. Need long-term thinking such as breaking reliance on petrouleum-based products.

AP: Create jobs and hunger goes away..

Comments:
Jim Douglas needs to think about what he's saying, he was talking about what a great job the Vermont Food Bank is doing. I know for a fact that food shares are being charged more and reciving very little for their money

He ought to be embarrassed that the Foodbank is so heavily used.

damn, Pollina has some wit

After six years of the jimi douglas experience, they're gonna have to.

One in seven Vermonters? Nearly 100,000 starving Vermonters. Hmmm. Anyone else think that number may be a bit stretched?

Symington should be embarrassed - she was the Speaker of the House!

So exactly what did Pollina propose to create jobs (that can be implemented) and what did Symington propose to lessen our State's reliance on petroleum-based products(that is affordable)?

Both are easy to say but I suspect neither has defined plans to back up their rhetoric.

If(?) 1 in 7 Vermonters are hungry then they probably aren't working so for those able/capable we should pass out the seeds instead of the fruits and vegetables. Pollina and Symington are all for "back to basics". Pollina wants more local produce grown and sold in VT, let's start with gardening classes for the hungry.

People are going hungry right NOW as they pay record prices for fuel and greatly increased prices for food. Winter will only increase the suffering.

Ah, so "then they probably working so..", eh, nekkie boy.

In other words, you're still dumb, you're still scum and your ignorant, ill-informed ass has got bupkis. There's no probably about it, nekwit. There never is.

Always a pleasure.
Dismissed.

Coop- where can I send your seeds?
I don't know if your hungry or not working- or both. Please sell your computer and put food on the shelf!

NEK has left a new comment on the post "Hunger":

Nice try, newit. Get your ignorant anonymous ass some seeds and grow yourself a case and a clue and some evidence, nekkie boy.

The jimi douglas experience is gonna need some help transitioning off the government teet come November when they join the growing ranks of the gop-scum unemployed, so ya best grow some for them, too.

Always a pleasure.
Dismissed.

nek at 8:34......

You the man.

Yeah, Pollina has wit like a guy you want at your cocktail party not in the Governors ofice.
