Pollina on the move

While House Speaker Gaye Symington, D-Jericho, and Gov. Jim Douglas trade shots over the Legislature's aborted veto session and the political ramifications for both of that decision, Progressive gubernatorial candidate Anthony Pollina is on the stump.

He's launched a tour with stops in every country and he's put up a radio ad. No doubt a critical strategy -- get some air time and publicity going before the R's and D's put their candidates in play and grab headlines.

If you want to hear Ben Cohen endorsing Pollina, check here.

If you want to see Pollina in person, check here for the schedule.

Comments:
Pollina must be making a statement to the Dems- he is in the race regardless if you run or not.
As he makes his tour, I wonder if he is stopping by to pay the farmers what Vermont Milk owes them!

I see a great new flavor for ben and jerrys - Perennial Loser. It would contain a mix of imported fruits and nuts, with a swirl of sour cream from the vermont milk company.

the only thing I would want to do less than seeing Tony "the milk theif" Pollina is to listen to a toasted nut case like Ben Cohen drivel on about the criminal corprate greed mongers........

Another flavor name: Trustifarian Gentrification Delight

Isn't this the Brooklyn money-gubber who promised no executive would ever make more than 7 times the salary of the lowest paid worker? And then sold out to Unilever with his equally-money-grubbing partner? I guess they have the time now to lecture the world on the evils of capitalism. P.T.Barnum - right again!

What's up with Annie Noonan leaving her job with VSEA and moving to Conn ?????????????

Anybody we know going with her ????

Seems that Hinda Miller, George Coppenrath, Claire Ayer and Don Collins are all calling it quits in the Senate.

Any other news???

I would hope that Pollina tours Vermont before he heads to other "country's"

Pollina might be advised to skip a few "farming" areas in his tour. Understand the local dairy farmers are sharpening their pitchforks!

Gotta love the idiots taking potshots at Cohen in here. Like Vermont would even be on the map without Ben and Jerry's and maybe Cabot. Luckily, the lunatic fringe is dying off quickly in Vermont (that includes you Bubba), so I wouldn't advise B&J to relocate just yet. The hayseeds are blowing away in the wind. Even Newt Gingrich is worried the GOP will get crushed this fall. The tar pits await you Bubs, NEK and Capt. Costume.

As long as Bernie and Howie are around, Vermont will be on the map.
Talk about lunatic fringe! eeeiiieo

Hinda Miller is leaving the Senate? Do tell. Is she off to steal credit again for someone else's idea?

Has Doobie built his special green car yet?

Can't wait for a ride in that baby.

2:27 is right on one count - many of us who have worked and payed taxes all of our lives won't be here too much longer to subsidize the "entitlement" crowd. And neither will Vermont's best and brightest youth - why would they spend years in college only to face a Vermont economy that punishes hard work and a strong morality. North Carolina, here we come! And by the way, I think IBM, GE, St. Johnsbury Trucking, Fairbanks, Rock of Ages, and a few thousand other great companies just MIGHT have done more for Vermont than a few slimy Brooklyn boys named Ben, Jerry, and Bernie.

St. Jay trucking went out of business under Snelling.

Ben and Jerry aren't slimy. They've brought a lot of great jobs to Vermont. Why call a couple of successful business leaders names just because they disagree with you?

I have to agree with the last poster, Bubba. You can criticize Ben and/or Jerry for their views, but there isn't anything wrong with what they've done: They built a successful company that continues to employ a lot of Vermonters, even if they're not still the owners.

You undermine any credible argument you might be making when you resort to calling people "slimy" just because you disagree with their politics.

Wow. What an opportunity to get a Senate that's worth a damn. Doyle hasn't read the handwriting yet?

Annie Noonan and her boyfriend off the CT - wow.

Gaye Symington for Governor - WOW

St. Jay Trucking went out of business in June of 1993. Howard Dean became governor in 1991.

Must be his fault.

No, it's Ben's fault.

Douglas and the GOP bootlickers are probably very happy Ms. Noonan is departing. She could kick all their asses with her hands tied and did for quite a number of years. Godspeed to her. She's done more for the working class in Vermont then Jim Douglas and his lackies even ever thought about trying in a moment of weakness.

WE all wish that were true.

Why hasn't Bernie endorsed Pollina?

He has.

Hey, Does anyone remember the 2002 Lt Gov election? Dubie, Shumlin, and Pollina!

Remember who showed up at the GOP Hdqtrs that nite - Pollina!

And remember when Dubie from the podium, thanked Pollina for throwing the election his way!

And remember Pollina acknowledging the thank you!

That's why Dems should not vote for Pollina!

Yeah, besides the fact that Pollina has done nothing in his career but be a mouthpiece!

He has not won one elected seat anywhere and he thinks he is entitled to run for Governor.

He does have salon perfect hair though. That should count for something.

Noonan is a labor hack no more no less

Is her boytoy going with her ??

Vermont is on the map because of Ben and Jerry's????

Must be on the map of "The World's Most Hyped Con Jobs"

Those clowns played you liberal trust fund flatlanders like a violin...playing their communist tune while they hauled off the loot from their workers labor and sweat

You said St J Trucking went out of Business under Snelling

Where do you get your info from the "JW Book of Fictional Facts and Rants"

StJ went out under your hero HoHo the Srceamer Dean

Pollina all the way!!!

When did Bernie endorse Pollina for Governor? I have got to see that in print!

Read a newspaper sometime.

why can't the Republicans find someone to run against Welch?

What a sad bunch.

What the Republicans need is a sleezy ambulance chaser to make the competition even.

Actually, the respected magazine The National Journal just wrote a glowing piece about Welch, saying he's a standout among first-termers. You're going to have to do better than the tired, old "ambulance chaser" gotcha statement. But, like most bitter GOPers, you are stuck in the past and being left behind by a majority of society.

Unfortunately for most employees of St. Jay Trucking, they went out of business just at the time HoHo Dean was throwing insurance companies (remember Golden Rule?) out of Vermont because they wanted to make a profit; a lot of Trucking Company employees were left high and dry with nothing but Blue Cross to buy. Dean didn't care, he always hated the NEK so it didn't matter to him (this is why so little road work was ever done in the NEK during Dean's reign).

Except for Governor there is not an opponent for any incumbent state wide office holder.

Isn't anyone even running for Lt. Gov.?

?????????????????????????

Lt. Gov. is a ceremonial position in Vermont so who the hell cares if Doobie Doo doesn't have any competition. Like the GOP will ever force a tiebreaker vote. Puhlease.

But the Democrats can't come up with a candidate?

They have one now.
