Spreading the word visually

Trying to raise awareness about a loophole that could exempt overseas contracts from a provision that requires contractors to report fraud, Rep. Peter Welch has tapped in to new media. (PHOTO OF WELCH WOULD GO HERE IF THE DANG SYSTEM WOULD COOPERATE)

Welch's office made a quick little video and posted it on You Tube. So far, 213 viewers have called it up - two of whom were me and I don't know how many of whom were Welch's staff. But posting a video on an open site other than one's own Web site offers another way to reach the world.

"The hope is to raise awareness about what is an agregious loophole," said Welch spokesman Andrew Savage, who posted the video "The pubilc should hear about this."

You can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lqqLXiuV1U.

Comments:
Good for Welch.

Without fraud, fear and frustration born of gop-slop-fueled ignorance, halliburton, kbr, blackwater and all things gop are totally cheneyed.

You (and not you jwpoop, you should just stay on your meds) should really learn how to embed YouTube on this blog. It's not hard. It's one of the great by-products of the Internet that Al Gore created.

Coopy your 10:18 posting is lucid as ever.

Never let it be said that a personal injury attorney was anything other than an ethical, straight shooting, stand-up guy.

This board is fortunate to have you to remind us what dyed-in-the-wool, card carrying Dems sound like and how they present themselves. You are a pillar of open-mindedness and free, constructive speech.

The RNC should use your postings in their recruiting campaigns.

Did Savage really say "agregious."

Someone can't give up the old party line about Gore. Who needs help?

Who is running for statewide offices?

Anyone see Jimmy on television casting his closed reel line into the rushing water after it was baited by the Fish and Wildlife director?

A) He doesn't even know how to bait his own hook, which is sad for a true Vermonter
B) Any true trout fisher was home in bed yesterday morning because we know the water wasn't welcoming any good fishing
C) He still fishes with a little kid's reel instead of a big boy's

What a poser Douglas is!

"Have you been injured?"

Liz Ready is READY to run again !!

She has her MBA, Ph D, and MD degrees all behind her........just has to settle with the credit card companies she hasn't paid for the courses!!

A great dimocrat!!

Ready's ready?
She got a new cell phone company?

There ARE some things even Liz Ready wouldn't do!

And I'm sure they're every bit as legit as your evidence, little factually-challenged fella.

"A great dimocrat!!"

She could falsify some wmd dreck, become a gop and take clueless condi's place, little fella.

The bottom of the abyss is the limit for you coalition of the clueless cretins

In other words, she shot your ignorant ass down, too.

That certainly illuminates your situation, bubble boy.

Still, it stands to reason that she'd know a phony resume when she saw one.

Your ignorant ass was out before ya left the dugout.

Tough break, little fella.

balh, blah, blah.....

Yawn

Liz Ready deserved to get booted out of office ... but I think it's funny that people still bring up her $200 phone bill -- especially when the original topic was the loophole in the law that has allowed Halliburton and KBR to steel billions from US taxpayers.

It’s not only ironic – it’s the reason that the Republican Party is in the minority in Vermont.

I was more interested in Jim Douglas's reluctance to bait his own fishing hook. What a hoot that he had the Fish and Wildlife guy do it for him. That's classic.

"Ewwww, I'm not touchin that yucky worm."

What a wuss!

Gee, cut and paste factually-challenged coalition of the clueless, crapolla from ignorant, anonymous trash.

What are the odds.

"Liz Ready deserved to get booted out of office ... but I think it's funny that people still bring up her $200 phone bill," sez Anon.

What? Where's jwpoop now, calling out the factually-challenged, clueless anonymous trash? Where be the off-the-meds little fella?

FACT IS..before the 2002 election, it came to light that Ready had run up a bill on her state cell phone of almost $10,000 in 18 months. She reimbursed the state for about $2,500 in personal calls after she received a freedom of information request on the matter.

$200? Trying to rewrite history huh? What are the odds indeed.

Dismissed.

Enough about Liz Ready. She's gone and has been for some time. What part of that don't you understand?

Perhaps it was $10,000. You don't cite a source so we don't actually know ... as I said, she deserved to get booted.

But $10,000 is a drop in the bucket compared to the amount of money stolen from US taxpayers in Iraq --- and if you don't know that, you haven't been reading the newspapers.

Defending Liz..hey folks, look. Shay Totten reads the BFP blog.

"But $10,000 is a drop in the bucket compared to the amount of money stolen from US taxpayers in Iraq --- and if you don't know that, you haven't been reading the newspapers"

C'mon...stolen? It hasn't been stolen. You may not like where it has been spent but it's not stolen.

Pilot can't defend the Republican policies that permitted war proffiteering ... so he's trying to change the subject.

Then again, someone who calls himself "ron brown's pilot" is obviously stuck in the early 1990's.

"Gee, cut and paste factually-challenged ...."

JW-you need to footnote your work. 'Cut and paste' is my material. Have you no morals? ...stealing my material....I know it is very, very, very hard thinking of new stuff on your own.

The least you could do is thank me.

Actually, billions have been stollen:

"Between April 2003 and June 2004, $12 billion in U.S. currency—much of it belonging to the Iraqi people—was shipped from the Federal Reserve to Baghdad, where it was dispensed by the Coalition Provisional Authority. Some of the cash went to pay for projects and keep ministries afloat, but, incredibly, at least $9 billion has gone missing, unaccounted for, in a frenzy of mismanagement and greed ..."

www.vanityfair.com/politics/features/2007/10/iraq_billions200710

More evidence of stollen money:

"Millions of dollars in US rebuilding funds have been wasted in Iraq, US auditors say in a report which warns corruption in the country is rife ..."

www.corpwatch.org/article.php?id=14329

Looks like somebody' "stollen" your dictionary, too, little fella.

When spewing the party line, please have it edited by jwpoop.

You're missing a few baseless insults, too.

Dismayed.

You must be new in town. That's the extent of their act.

They can't defend a damned thing the say. They never could. They never can. They never will be able to.

"Then again, someone who calls himself "ron brown's pilot" is obviously stuck in the early 1990's."

That's not the only place it's stuck.

"They can't defend a damned thing the say. They never could. They never can. They never will be able to," sez jwpoop.

You forget something lil' off-the-meds feller?

Defend a damned thing the....what say? THE lunatic fringe like you? THE lyin' press corps. The cheatin' Clintons? THE what, exactly, cannot be defended?

Dismal.

I think that taxpayers are much more upset about Liz Ready than they are about the Iraq war.

Why wouldn't they be??

JW is a left wing rabid windbag

His idols include Tony "the milk money thief" P.
Obawwwma the hypocryte
Rev Wrong
and now
Liz "I am ready for anything boys"

what a line up of garbage mouths

We don't need to worry about the Iraq War. That does not matter. We need to focus on who Liz Ready called five years ago.

That's a topical issue.

Right.

Let's send our legislators to Montpelier to wring their hands about the war, global warming or other topics of which they can talk about for weeks and accomplish nothing.

Meanwhile, they could affect change on state employees mis-using our tax money, but no, let 'em discuss a resolution about impeachment for a couple of weeks.

That'll help the state's bottom line.

Yawn. You bore me.
