How many chairs does it take to .....

No offense, but I had to chuckle when I saw the announcement about the John McCain leadership team. It wasn't who was on it -- all important Republican leaders. It was their titles. How can you have so many people sharing the chairing?

Here's the lineup:

VERMONT MCCAIN LEADERSHIP

General Chair -- Gov. Jim Douglas
Honorary Co-Chair -- Lt. Governor Brian Dubie
Honorary Co-Chair -- Hon. Barbara Snelling, Former Lt. Governor & Former First Lady
Co-Chair -- Hon. Randy Brock, Former State Auditor
Co-Chair -- Chris Roy, Williston
Vice Chair -- Rep. Steve Adams, House Republican Leader
Vice Chair -- Hon. Walter Freed, Former Speaker of the House
Vice Chair -- Rep. Rick Hube, Former House Majority Leader
Vice Chair -- Anne McClaughry, Former VT Republican Party Vice Chair
Vice Chair -- Sen. Kevin Mullin, Asst. Senate Republican Leader
Veterans Chair -- Rep. Joe Krawzcyk

--Nancy Remsen

It's called small government or the corporate model.

Sure, I want to step away. I want to belong to the dimocrats, like those in Vermont. I wanted to be taxed at the highest rate in the country; I want to ride on one of Howard's trains to nowhere; I want to see my grandkids leave the state looking for jobs other than organic hemp growing; I want to visit Brattleboro and Burlington and watch the naked perverts running or biking though town; I want to live in a state where the reps fight for homo "marriage", and waste money on yet another campaign finance bill that again will be rejected by the Supreme Court;I want to live in a state that is more concerned about legalizing drugs than punishing child molesters; I want to live in a state that welcomes patriotic Americans to their kid's graduation with smelly, filthy left-wing "protesters"; I want to live in a state that makes it neediest citizens drive to New Hampshire to buy socks for their kids because the elites just don't like Wal Mart; and I definitely want to live in a state that, when presented with plans to open a business that employees natives, has to go through the CLF, VPIRG, and other trustfund-flatlander run "board". Sure, I can hardly wait to quit the Republican party!

Good post Bubba. I couldn't agree more. The left wing loonies have ruined the great state of Vermont.

We really need to get to the middle and work together

Thank You for that factually-challenged, psychotic gop-slop nonsense perspective.

I always enjoy your lunatic-fringe fairy tales, so.

What would you prefer?

Blah, blah, blah, blah, Thank You for that factually-challenged, psychotic gop-slop nonsense perspective. I always enjoy your lunatic-fringe fairy tales, so, blah, blah, blah . . ."

Bubba:

Sorry, but you're way over the line with that stuff about "homo" marriage and "smelly, filthy left wing protestors."

It's that kind of rhetoric that turns off lots of Vermonters -- myself included -- who might otherwise agree with many of your other points.

When you engage in the same kind of name-calling and insulting rhetoric from the political left that passes for discourse on this blog, you put yourself in the same category. It's hard to take someone seriously when slurs and vitriol are part and parcel of their opinions on virtually topic.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: The far right and far left in this state -- and on this blog -- are nothing more than two sides of the same coin. And plenty of Vermonters find both distasteful.

"Homo? Did he say "homo?" People still use that word?"

Nah, just knuckle-draggin' nitwits and coalition of the clueless cretins.

People stopped using that term in the '50s. It went the way of Jim Crow and bans on interracial marriage.

It seems a little strange to be lectured for using a harmless term that is simply short for a legitimate term that can be found in all dictionaries. Particularly by the "king" of garbage-mouth, jw, and the others that routinely use far worse to describe, Bush, Cheney, Douglas, Dubie, McCain, and their families. Talk about politically-correct hypocrites!

Yourself included. Guess you didn't really absorb what the 8:00 p.m. poster was saying, huh, little fella?

Nice try, little fella. What's to absorb? If he's got a beef with me let him make it.

That's his call, not yours.

Dismissed.

We really do need to get to the middle which Vermonters cannot seem to do.

"I'm gonna call your ignorant ass on every bogus allegation you make.

I'm not gonna give ya a free pass on 'em."

Ah, like the assertion that Kennedy was about to get out out of Vietnam before he got shot, eh, little fella?

"We really do need to get to the middle which Vermonters cannot seem to do."

Nah, we just don't buy your wing-nut nonsense definition of what constitutes the middle, little fella.

If we did, both houses of the Legislature would have sizeable gop majorities, Richie Tarrant would be the Junior Senator from the State of Vermont and Martha Rainville would be our Congresswoman.

She's not. He's not. They're not. We don't.

You ain't the middle, little fella.

Always a pleasure.

"Ah, like the assertion that Kennedy was about to get out out of Vietnam before he got shot, eh, little fella?"

Ya mean like this stuff, little fella? You must've been out of town at that coalition of the clueless cretin convention, little fella.

How's your "Nazi Germany and Japan meant us no harm/FDR provoked Japan into attacking Pearl Harbor just to get us out of the Depression" nitwit nonsense you loons have been unable to get your mittwits on for three months.

Evidence sure must be tough to find when there ain't none, eh, little fella?

Government Reports
Proceedings of 8th SecDef Conference on Vietnam
These proceedings of the 8th Secretary of Defense Conference on Vietnam were declassified in 1997, 34 years after the fact. They show that by May of 1963 there were plans on the books for withdrawal of U.S. forces from Vietnam, and that under Kennedy's orders McNamara had instructed the military to revise those plans to speed up the withdrawal timetable.

Foreign Relations of the United States, 1961-1963, Volume III: January—August 1963
Published by the State Department in 1991, this and an accompanying volume filled in many missing details about Vietnam policy in 1963, adding more weight to the argument that Kennedy was turning away from the war effort.

Foreign Relations of the United States, 1961-1963, Volume IV: August—December 1963
This volume covers the latter half of 1963, including early policy of the incoming Johnson administration.

These other FRUS Vietnam volumes are available online at the State Department's web site:

1961-63 Vol I: Vietnam 1961

1961-63 Vol II: Vietnam 1962

1964-68 Vol I: Vietnam 1964

1964-68 Vol II:: Vietnam, January through June 1965

1964-68 Vol III: Vietnam, June though December 1965

1964-68 Vol IV: Vietnam 1966

JW said..."Now ya can point out just where and when I said a word about doogie, dubie or McCain's family, punk. That's what I thought."

How true JW. You haven't said a thing since you showed up here. In case you don't get it, posting the same set of trite insults and garbage talk doesn't qualify as adult conversation.

". . . adding more weight to the argument that Kennedy was turning away from the war effort."

"wieght to the argument?"

"That Kennedy was turning away?"

This ain't evidence that Kennedy was about to get us out of Vietnam before he got shot.

Which is what you said, little fella.

Nice try. No sale.

Got a troop withdrawal order? Got a speech? Got minutes of a cabinet meeting in which Kennedy said we're gonna be out next year?

That's what I thought.

What you've got is a suggestion. A suggestion ain't evidence of what you stated, little fella.

Not a chance, little fella. I don't give free passes to clueless cretins who spew ignorant, ill-informed, lunatic-fringe nonsense with no basis in fact and it's not like you clowns are capable of anything else.

Your idea of meaningful discussion is for you and bubbles to talk trash and agree with each other without anyone calling ya on your crap.

Well, that's just not gonna happen, little fella, so either cough up some evidence to substantiate your slop or get used to me rakin' your sorry butts over the coals cause there's just not gonna be any free passes for nameless nitwits spewin' neo-nazi nonsense with no basis in fact.

Don't feel bad, little fella. It's not just you. Neo-nazi nonsense never has any basis in fact.

You're not the only clowns with evidentiary dysfunction.

It's nothin' personal.

FACTS.....

JW
I am familiar with the documentation regarding the Viet Nam planning between JFK and Mcnamara and as you well know, or whould if you actually read these documents, Kennedy had many scenarios developed regarding Viet Nam ranging from plans to expand the war into North Viet Nam to rapid pullout.

Read ALL the information noy just what fits your little fantasy!!

JW

"I am familiar with the documentation regarding the Viet Nam planning between JFK and Mcnamara and as you well know, or whould if you actually read these documents, Kennedy had many scenarios developed regarding Viet Nam ranging from plans to expand the war into North Viet Nam to rapid pullout."

Gee, ya mean he had a full range of contingency plans, little nameless-nitwit? That's gotta be the first and only time in US History that happened.

Well, little nameless-nitwit, if you're so familiar with the documentation in question, I'm sure you'll be happy to produce any and all evidence to substantiate your assertions.

After all, you wouldn't want anyone getting the impression that you're just another nameless-nitwit with bupkis for evidence shootin' his ignorant, ill-informed, knuckle-draggin' nitwit trap off with nothing to back it up, now would ya, little fella?

That's what I thought.

Dismissed.

So, you agree that Kennedy had a wide range of contingency plans for the Vietnam War, that included expansion of the war, but the one that is "true" is that he was gonna get us out of the war?

You're pathetic, little fella.

I do, eh? Feel free to point out just where and when I said that, little fella.

That's what I thought.

Let's examine the facts:

I'm still not seeing any evidence of these alleged "let's stay in Vietnam for 100 years" plans nameless nitwit claims to be so familiar with. Why not?

If the nameless nitwit in question is so familiar with them, why am lookin'at the usual nameless-nitwit bupkis, little fella?

That's what I thought.

If you tell me you've got a full house and I acknowledge the possibility, I'm still gonna insist on seein' your cards, little fella.

I haven't gone wrong callin' your pathetic bluff yet, little fella. I'll take my chances.

You haven't had a decent hand in 3 months. Given those facts and your customary absence of evidence, why wouldn't I call your pathetic bluff, little fella?

That's what I thought.

Always a pleasure.

E tu little wacko

HaHaHa

Revisionist history is a specialty of the GOP. Take a look at what passes for truth or history in this administration.

"So JW have you read the dicumentation or just regurgitating the BS some JFK revisionist is feeding you ??"

Ya mean the "dicumentation" you've been unable to come up with, little psychotic gop-slop, got-bupkis fella?

Gee, it's just gettin' harder and harder all the time for you to manufacture evidence to support your factually-challenged, fundamentally-dishonest, lyin' sack of gop-slop view of yours, little fella.

That must really suck, schmuck.

Almost as much as you coalition of the clueless cretins.

Always a pleasure.

Nah, it's just me pointing out your usual abundance of bupkis, little nameless-nitwit fella. That doesn't merit or require an essay from me to merely confirm the obvious fact that you've got bupkis.

You've already done all the heavy liftin' for me.

Thanks, little fella.

You can selectively edit and strip away the details of my posts regarding your worthiness to live and waste oxygen best used by those of us with knowledge of the evidence and the facts and can think, reason and walk upright all ya want, little fella, it ain't gonna make it any less an accurate portrait of just who and what you are along with what you're not.

Clearly, ya got nothin' else to recommend ya.
