For your inspection, three items from the presidential campaign trail today:

1. Associated Press is reporting that Republican Mitt Romney is dropping out of the race, and the speculation is that this seals it for John McCain. Guess it was time for the Mittster to preseve the remainder of his children's inheritance. So is McCain got it, or does this mean Mike Huckabee gets all of Romney's voters and slows the McCain train down?

2. Howard Dean, your former governor and current chairman of Democratic National Committee, is quote as saying that having the Democratic presidential nomination contest go all the way to the convention without a victor would be a bad thing for his party. Click HERE for the clip. Jeez, I was thinking what a healthy thing this wide-open race was, for the Dems and the country. Was I wrong?

3. Sen. Patrick Leahy has just put out a mushy fundraising letter to Vermonters on behalf of Barack Obama, as if the fella from Illinois really needs the dough given the avalanche of cash he's been pulling down this week, $7 million since Tuesday. "Barack Obama represents the America we once were and want to be again," Leahy's letter says in part. You wonder, what did Hillary ever do to make Leahy embrace her opponent so emphatically.

My mistake - Leahy was forced to resign from the Senate Intelligence Committee in 1987 NOT the Foreign Relations Committee. If any doubts, check Wikopedia or anything else on Google. Senator Clinton's operatives have questioned Barack Hussein Obama's truthfulness for attempting to hide the fact that he was educated in an Indonesian Madrassa for 4 years. Is this someone you'd want as President?

My last comment on 1941:

(1) No one doubts that the depression started in 1932 and ended as soon as the US entered WWII in 1941. 1942 is officially by all accounts (except maybe looney jw) the first year after that depression had ended.
(2) As to was WWII necessary, there will always be arguments by different sides as to whether FDR goaded Japan and Germany into attacking us. I don't have the time or desire to humor the woodschmuk, which would be a futile endeavor anyways; anyone can google all of the different opinions, and make up your own minds.

The count was never fair. The court interfered as did the Secretary of State of Florida who was subsequently rewarded politically by the Bush administration. She had also campaigned for Bush prior to that.
In 2004, districts in Ohio reported there were votes on the machines before the polls opened. Diebold, the maker of the polling machines, was a heavy contributor to the Bush campaign.

In 2000, Al Gore won the popular vote, actually.

Just a reminder, though it probably won't make any difference to the Bush-haters......recounts demanded by dims in Florida were only to be a handful of heavily-democrat counties. Countless surveys and recounts continued to show Bush had won. Finally, when it looked like the corrupt Florida Supreme Court was in Gore's pocket, the Supreme Court had to step in. NO SURVEY, POLL, or what ever indicated that Gore had won...only time and revisionist dims. As for Ohio and Kerry, this is just a pile of imagined hooey by a bunch of left-wing conspiracy nuts with NO EVIDENCE of anything!!! Jeezum crow, don't you jw-wanabes ever give up?

Actually, minority voters came to the polls to find that the polling places
had been "moved" and the ballot itself, usually prepared under the direction of the Secretary of State, was confusing--to the benefit of Republicans, of course. These are just a couple of examples of the dirty tricks done by Republicans in Florida. You like Google, do a little research yourself. You'll find similar references to what happened in Ohio the next time around also.

Why were ballots "confusing" to dims but not Republicans? I realize that Republicans are smarter than dims, but isn't it strange that in all places in Ohio and Florida where "questions" have arisen, it is the dimocrats that have handled the polling places! My favorite story is the whining of the fools in Boca Raton and Miami that had "trouble" casting their votes; a few months later a 4th grade class of students in Georgia had a mock vote using the same Florida ballots AND HAD ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS! (Makes you think Ann Coulter is correct - "If democrats were smart they'd be Republicans").

Admit it JW, George is a pretty smart guy isn't he to have had the foresight to know he needed his brother to be elected governor so he could control the outcome of the Presidential election years later. George apparently according to your theory was able to: (1) get Jeb elected and re-elected in Florida, (2) convince Jeb to place Kathryn Harris as Secretary of State knowing she was sympathetic to GW, (3) anticipate the need for a voting controversy and facilitate its occurrence in Florida where his operatives are, and then finally miraculously extend that influence all the way to Ohio.

Sure I see how that could happen. I also believe there are aliens being secretly held in Area 51. Geesh.

The questionable ballots in Florida were designed by a democrat official, NOT a Republican. Even a fourth grade class in Georgia had no trouble with them, but apparently it is fashionable today in elitist, liberal circles to blame their own shortcomings on some "right-wing plot to disenfranchise voters". What is really amusing is that this comes from the party of Lyndon Johnson, Mayor Daley, and other big-city bosses who, to them, voting corruption is just as American as apple pie! (Do you know what "walking around" money is, jw?)
