Live from St. Paul

Perhaps you caught Gov. Sarah Palin's speech last night. You don't usually get that much sarcasm and humor from a politician. She sounded like a character in a "Saturday Night Live" skit.

Just a sample:
"But here’s a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators:
I’m not going to Washington to seek their good opinion; I’m going to Washington
to serve the people of this country.”

A fair number in the crowd, at least as they were panned by CBS cameras, didn't seem to quite know what to do with her sarcasm. While the Democratic convention crowd seemed willing to cheer wildly at every sneeze, half of this crowd seemed to think they were supposed to wait until the end.

A reminder to you to check out Vermont delegate Chris Roy's blog at the Free Press, and his point of view from way back in the convention center, a brush with the band Styx (yikes) and hopefully he'll be updating us later on the Palin speech. You can get there from HERE.

- Terri Hallenbeck

Comments:
They are confused. The ticket is no longer on one message and republicans don't work well when they can't line up like ducks.

You can put lipstick on a pit bull, but she's still a dog.

Hey Terri, it looks like the Wall Street Journal had a little different view that you did.

“Liberal commentators glumly noted the thunderous applause in the convention hall last night. But they could do precious little to attack. Even Keith Olbermann, MSNBC's official attack dog, could muster only this as commentary on Mrs. Palin's performance: "People who like this sort of thing will find this ... the sort of thing they like.”

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122050113197098419.html?mod=googlenews_wsj

“thunderous applause” is quite a bit different than “A fair number in the crowd, at least as they were panned by CBS cameras, didn't seem to quite know what to do with her sarcasm. While the Democratic convention crowd seemed willing to cheer wildly at every sneeze, half of this crowd seemed to think they were supposed to wait until the end.”

How about this?:

“After Sarah Palin's remarkably effective speech, I don't think any pundits or politicians will be able to count on a decisive Democratic enthusiasm edge. Sarah Palin electrified the hall, and from what I can tell from my e-mail inbox that excitement is being replicated in living rooms across the country.”

Care to explain?

Maybe just one misguided reporter from a know nothing rag?

“ST. PAUL — Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska introduced herself to America before a roaring crowd at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night as “just your average hockey mom” who was as qualified as the Democratic nominee, Senator Barack Obama, to be president of the United States.”

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/04/us/politics/04repubday.html?bl&ex=1220673600&en=df8812acc5f44a95&ei=5087%0A

“In the end Sarah Palin proved herself last night to be the tough, no-nonsense reformer that John McCain had the good sense to pluck from his party’s increasingly impressive farm team. A beauty queen turned politician with a solid grasp of energy issues and an appreciation of their impact on national security, she has begun at last to put the nonsense behind her and begin to tell her story her way.”

http://news.bostonherald.com/news/opinion/editorials/view.bg?articleid=1116850&srvc=home&position=rated

Wow. Now America knows why John McCain wanted Sarah Palin on his presidential ticket. We know she hasn't put behind her the doubts about experience and family complications and the other questions that critics have tossed her way--sometimes cruelly--in the last six days. But her speech Wednesday night to the Republican National Convention in St. Paul showed the country a gutsy, dynamic and inspiring leader. Nothing less.

Palin plainly connected on a personal level: she instantly took command of the largest crowd she's ever faced. She reminded citizens that strong and competent people can indeed come from out-of-the-way places like Wasilla, Alaska, and towns in battleground states she mentioned: Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia. People who, in her words, "grow our food, run our factories--and fight our wars."

http://newsblogs.chicagotribune.com/vox_pop/2008/09/palin-aces-her.html

Greeted by a thunderous ovation lasting nearly three minutes, Palin sought to turn recent negative publicity to her advantage, casting herself as a victim of hostile reporters and a scornful Washington establishment. "Here's a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators," she said. "I'm not going to Washington to seek their good opinion. I'm going to Washington to serve the people of this great country."

http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/front/la-na-ledeall4-2008sep04,0,1164878.story

Palin, 44, McCain's vice presidential running mate, drew shouts of "Sarah, Sarah" on Wednesday in her national political debut, unleashing red-meat rhetoric against Obama that had been largely lacking from this four-day event.

http://www.reuters.com/article/vcCandidateFeed1/idUSN1928744420080904

She gave her first major campaign speech to an enthusiastic crowd at the convention in St Paul, Minnesota.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7597218.stm

She spoke for 36 pugnacious, stilleto-heeled, in your face, Barack Obama is a limp-wristed cover boy minutes. She blew the roof off. Sarah Palin has now shaken up a presidential race like no other nominee in modern times.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/us_elections/article4671671.ece

I guess I’m still missing something Terri. How is it all of these reporters saw a reaction to Palin’s speech so much different than you did?

There didn't seem to be any confusion or lack of enthusiasm for her that I saw. In fact, they seemed pretty excited.

Perhaps the issue is with you and the rest of the left-leaning media and the desire to show her in a bad light.

Since last week the media has attacked her and her family unrelentlessly. Last night she took the offensive, gave some of it back and now they think she is devisive. Get real. The media is the devisive factor here. They have little desire to air issues and facts...just innuendo and dirt.

Rasmussen just released the results of a poll that indicated by a 10 to 1 margin people believe there is a real media bias in their covering of her.

At this point, the mainstream media has the same credibility as the National Enquirer.

Captain America

anon 10:46.

Why are you quoting republican authored editorials?

"Why are you quoting republican authored editorials?"

Proof please?

I did not realize the BBC had Republicans writing for them. Again: proof please.

Is anon of 11:19 insinuating that some journalists are bias?
I am surprised that Terri didn't pick up on the "outdated" hairdo story.

Hell, its a convention.

It's like a room of drunks and a bottle of jack daniels on the podium.

"A fair number in the crowd, at least as they were panned by CBS cameras, didn't seem to quite know what to do with her sarcasm. "

Yeah, there were a fair number in the crowd that didn't know what to do. There were a fair number day before yesterday too. The message Palin presents is exactly what McCain is trying to disconnect from. All Bush supporters like Palin on the ticket. Those who chose McCain for McCain do not.

So, when Lieberman took the stage, Bush supporters were confused. When Gulliani took the stage Bush supporters again were hesitant. And when Palin took the stage, it was McCain supporters who were uncomfortable.

Palin was misleading. Her husband no longer works on the slope and hasn't since she became governor.

Also, why does she use her own family to promote herself, while criticizing input on her pregnant daughter? Sorry, but that's two faced. Her son was obviously not happy.

She has a tell. It was clear when she talked about foreign policy and when she listed off supposed numerous taxes that would come from Obama, she was not comfortable. In terms of foriegn policy, she didn't know enough to be making statements. Good thing there were no questions allowed. When she was talking about Obama, she was outright lying.

A wonder to see the fear from the left.

Then you all say she is nothing. Libs afraid of shadows and noises in the dark. What a laugh riot.

Run over to Montpelier gang. Maybe JWCoop will fire up the BBQ and buy some beers for you all.

It is your turn- start listing the "lies" she was telling.
Some of you have your head in the sand and just don't know the truth when it bites you!
Is it experience? She governs a state that would be the 17th largest country in the world (just ahead of Iran)and has more natural resources than 90% of any country. Obama's experience is 130 "present" votes in Illinois legislature and 140 days in the US Senate..oh.. and community organizing in Chicago.
Is it taxes? The NTU (non-partisan) estimates Obama's tax plan would increase taxes by $345 million per year. Is it popularity? Palin has over 85% popularity- and that includes Democrats- Biden, Obama & congress has less than 20% popularity. Is it energy? She is miles ahead of Biden/Obama- Palin knows where the resources are, how to get them and how to negotiate with the oil companies-she's done it-- Obama wants you to put more air in your tires and drive less!!
Change you can count on- you bet McCain/Palin- eat your heart out libs.

"It is your turn- start listing the "lies" she was telling."

Actually, it's your turn. She didn't offer footnotes. She also didn't mention the cuts that are proposed. She was misleading, lying, whatever you want to call it. But, that didn't matter to the crowd.

She was not lying so how can I support your stupid accusations that she was?
You obviously haven't taken your head out of the sand --or Obama rectum yet!

"She was not lying"

Proof please.

I thought her digs were a little too transparent and crass. I'll bet she'll be doing nothing but debate prep from now until the debate. This is where the scripted material won't be available to her (if the press asks questions outside the box).

All you Dems are a piece of work.

You have the Man and Big Joe Biden and you are afraid of a little girl from small town Alaska. And to think she did it without Greek Pillars or fireworks or a Hollywood production company.

Is Obama really that weak? Interesting.....

re: experience

The Alaska National Guard, which Republicans are pointing to as an important national-security credential for vice presidential choice Sarah Palin, has personnel shortages that make its aviation units the most poorly staffed in the nation.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080904/ap_on_el_pr/cvn_palin_national_guard;_ylt=AiOZv2aCYhaExCLhNK3flldh24cA

re: taxes

The Tax Policy Center, a think tank run jointly by the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute, concluded that Obama's plan would increase after-tax income for middle-income taxpayers by about 5 percent by 2012, or nearly $2,200 annually. McCain's plan, which cuts taxes across all income levels, would raise after tax-income for middle-income taxpayers by 3 percent, the center concluded.

Obama would provide $80 billion in tax breaks, mainly for poor workers and the elderly, including tripling the Earned Income Tax Credit for minimum-wage workers and higher credits for larger families.

He also would raise income taxes, capital gains and dividend taxes on the wealthiest. He would raise payroll taxes on taxpayers with incomes above $250,000, and he would raise corporate taxes. Small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year would see taxes rise.

"I thought her digs were a little too transparent and crass"

Crass is typical republican. Short, typically insulting, 3 and 4 letter word sentences designed to easily memorized and repeatable.

Digs are typical convention, republican or democratic. The audience is the best possible audience for the speaker. The speaker could fart and the crowd would cheer.

"And to think she did it without Greek Pillars or fireworks or a Hollywood production company."

What convention were you watching moron. They had revolving images of America on a huge screen behind her. I don't doubt that many of those images had subliminal messages in them as well, like "I want to applaud widely" or "You Love Sarah Palin."

That would be Mr. Moron to you pal....don't even try to rationalize it was as staged as the Barackoplis.

Oh yeah, great insight speculating on subliminal messages. You have read too many Coop postings. Go drink some more kool-aid.

Terri is no more than a cleaned-up jw. Peas in a pod. Your leftist media at work.

Go, Sarah!

Yeah, smashed, self-loathing, closeted-gays, three sheets to the wind, lined up around the block, three-deep outside the men's room to tap feet and assume the position with Larry wide-stance craig.

In other words, the scum vote.

If you applied the facts and risk/reward, osama in Waziristan and the new klan in the Xcel Center and you've only got one predator drone, it's not even close.

The gop-slime in St Paul have killed more Americans than al qaeda ever could and they're just gettin' warmed up.

Homophobia is a mental illness JW.

Get help.

You seem to be in a bit of a bad mood, Coopy. Was it a tough day at Ben and Jerry's or did a little girl from out in the sticks just kick some left wing elitist butt?

Things will seem better after a refreshing glass of Wild Irish Rose.

Remember John McCain is on tonight in prime time.

jw, grand poobah of the double-secret, Alfafa-women-haters club seems a little bit unraveled by Sarah Palin! (Don't you just get the feeling that Sarah could apply a purple noogie and then maybe an atomic wedgie to poor, pathetic, little jw?)

"There didn't seem to be any confusion or lack of enthusiasm for her that I saw. In fact, they seemed pretty excited."

"devisive", eh, crazy lady?

Well, Auntie Amerika, now that you've, once again, proved that you can't spell what you can't substantiate, your ignorant anonymous ass is offering your clueless-cretin account of your take on the scene by rewording inshannity's delusional dreck and reporting from your vantage point on the tube live in your living room as an unbiased, sober assessment of the situation, eh?

Nice try, crazy lady.

"Perhaps the issue is with you and the rest of the left-leaning media and the desire to show her in a bad light."

Ya mean the biased media that you gop loons have been claimin' were clueless mcsame's constituency when he was criticizing Bush, little filly?

Give her a few days. She won't need any one's help to make her look bad once she's without her Tennessee Taliban cheering section and away from the latest gop-slime Nuremberg rally.

Pat Buchanan's 1992 speech in Houston went over pretty well with the sig heil set at that Nuremberg rally, too, crazy lady.

The folks at home thought he was almost as psychotic as bush for lettin' him address his storm troopers.

"Since last week the media has attacked her and her family unrelentlessly."

Once again, as is your custom, you're right for all the wrong reasons, crazy lady.

"Unrelentlessly" would mean the media hesitated and was less than diligent about going after her, her family and the facts.

Clearly, that's not what you meant to imply, but, nevertheless, it's true.

She's gonna take on Obama, she's fair game and so is her 17 year-old abstinence-only success-story, daughter.

"Last night she took the offensive, gave some of it back and now they think she is devisive."

Yeah, she's also a crook an idiot and a religious fanatic. I wouldn't want to sell the little lady short, little filly.

"Get real. The media is the devisive factor here. They have little desire to air issues and facts...just innuendo and dirt."

Well, if the media confined themselves to issues and fact, there'd be no gop-slime party, we wouldn't be in Iraq, the Twin Towers would still be standing, we wouldn't have squandered the budget surplus, we wouldn't have yet another bush deficit with more debt than his 42 predecessors combined, the economy wouldn't be in the toilet and we wouldn't be in the midst of yet another Bush Recession.

The media doesn't have a liberal bias, crazy lady. The facts do.

"Rasmussen just released the results of a poll that indicated by a 10 to 1 margin people believe there is a real media bias in their covering of her."

Rasmussen, eh? Ya mean the one fixed noise quoted instead of their own because it was the only one that had bush over 40 percent, 35 percent, 30 percent and so on and so on.

"At this point, the mainstream media has the same credibility as the National Enquirer.

Captain America"

Thank you, as always for that factually-challenged, fundamentally-dishonest, ignorant anonymous-trash with bupkis perspective on the issue, crazy lady.

No matter how ya slice it, auntie amerika, your ignorant anonymous ass will find a way to have less credibility than anybody or anything at anytime.

Say goodnight, greasy.

Really Coopy. Take a deep breath, have a Wild Irish Rose and forward your 7:55 beauty to the Daily Kos (assuming you did not just cut and paste it from there). They may be more interested in reading it there.

Just in case you missed it, the most recent CBS poll has the race tied ar 42% each. So much for the Convention bump.

And in what bizarro world would the mixed-race child of an 18 year-old single mother who was once on food stamps as a child as he was raised by his mother and his white, maternal grandparents in modest circumstances as - unlike the illegitimate, incompetent trash currently squatting in the WH - e earned every scholarship he won and worked his way through every school he aced his way through, be an elitist when matched up against the Admiral's Brat who got into Annapolis as a legacy, graduated fifth from the bottom on his class, ditched the starter wife in the hospital, ran off with the rich beer heiress, who's been part of the problem in Congress for the better part of the past 26 years and forgets how many houses he has, what kind of car he drives, can't tell Sunni from Shiite, Iraq from Iran or al qaeda from hamas and the latest crooked gop-slime Governor of Alaska under investigation for misconduct and corruption with the pregnant 17 year-old abstinence-only success-story poster girl, little nameless-nitwit fella?

That's what I thought.

In other words, you're still dumb, you're still scum and your ignorant anonymous ass has still got bupkis.

Thanks, for clearin' that up, little fella.

"Things will seem better after a refreshing glass of Wild Irish Rose."

Well, drink up, little fella, with the economy in the tank in the midst of yet another bushleague recession and the cost of heating oil under these gop slimeballs, that's probably the best your ignorant anonymous ass is gonna do for a spell, so ya might as well leave it in the bag and knock yourself out.

Say goodnight, greasy.

Or step like geese.

Gee, Styx, eh?

Tell 'em 1976 called. They want their eight-track and their CB radio back. Now that they've got Palin, the gops have got themselves a convoy.

They can ride around the Xcel Center in the General Lee or Bandit's Black Trans Am and wave to those in attendance.

Clueless McSame can put on a Burt Reynolds Mustache - he hasn't had a thought since 1973. Just tell him he drives a '76 Black Trans Am. That'll solve that mystery and the '76 will make him feel young again and think he's from the future.

As the progressive end of the ticket, Psycho Sarah can pull an '85 Sally Field. Keep muttering, "you like me! you really like me! over and over again and the '85 will make Mcsame think she's from the distant future and the gop-slime in attendance can pretend he's Ronald Reagan instead of that McCain guy Rush and the Tennessee Taliban said they'd never vote for and nobody will be forced to slit their own throat when they catch a glimpse of themselves in the mirror.

Gee, that's a shame.

I haven't looked at Kos in months. I've never been a regular reader, but the way you keep hypin' it, little fella, I just might give it another look.

'"ar", at 42 percent", eh?

Yeah, I saw that.

So, you're in the midst of your Nuremberg Rally and the best ya can cough up is one poll that claims you're tied.

Gee, that's a shame, little fella.

Say goodnight, greasy.

"Homophobia is a mental illness JW."

What's up with that JW?

""Homophobia is a mental illness JW."

From today's Townhall.com

Organizer" Days Are a Joke
by Michelle Malkin

Rudy Giuliani had me in stitches during his red-meat keynote address at the GOP convention. I laughed out loud when Giuliani laughed out loud while noting Barack Obama's deep experience as a "community organizer." I laughed again when VP nominee and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin cracked: "I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a 'community organizer,' except that you have actual responsibilities."

Team Obama was not amused. (Neither were the snarky left-wingers on cable TV who are now allergic to sarcasm.) They don't get why we snicker when Obama dons his Community Organizer cape. Apparently, the jibes rendered Obama's advisers sleepless. In a crack-of-dawn e-mail to Obama's followers hours after Giuliani and Palin spoke, campaign manager David Plouffe attempted to gin up faux outrage (and, more importantly, donations) by claiming grave offense on the part of community organizers everywhere. Fumed Plouffe:
"Both Rudy Giuliani and Sarah Palin specifically mocked Barack's experience as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago more than two decades ago, where he worked with people who had lost jobs and been left behind when the local steel plants closed. Let's clarify something for them right now. Community organizing is how ordinary people respond to out-of-touch politicians and their failed policies."

Let me clarify something. Nobody is mocking community organizers in church basements and community centers across the country working to improve their neighbors' lives. What deserves ridicule is the notion that Obama's brief stint as a South Side rabble-rouser for tax-subsidized, partisan nonprofits qualifies as executive experience you can believe in.

What deserves derision is "community organizing" that relies on a community of homeless people and ex-cons to organize for the purpose of registering dead people to vote, shaking down corporations and using the race card as a bludgeon.

As I've reported previously, Obama's community organizing days involved training grievance-mongers from the far-left ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). The ACORN mob is infamous for its bully tactics (which they dub "direct actions"); Obama supporters have recounted his role in organizing an ambush on a government planning meeting about a landfill project opposed by Chicago's minority lobbies.
With benefactors like Obama in office, ACORN has milked nearly four decades of government subsidies to prop up chapters that promote the welfare state and undermine the free market, as well as some that have been implicated in perpetuating illegal immigration and voter fraud. Since I last detailed ACORN's illicit activities in this column in June (see "The ACORN Obama knows," June 19, 2008), the group continues to garner scrutiny from law enforcement:
Last week, Milwaukee's top election official announced plans to seek criminal investigations of 37 ACORN employees accused of offering gifts to sign up voters (including prepaid gas cards and restaurant cards) or falsifying driver's license numbers, Social Security numbers or other information on voter registration cards

She looked like Snidely Lipwax up there.

No homophobia Jeff?

"Yeah, smashed, self-loathing, closeted-gays, three sheets to the wind, lined up around the block, three-deep outside the men's room to tap feet and assume the position with Larry wide-stance craig.

In other words, the scum vote."

Those are your words Jeff.

Anyone from the Free Press care to come running to Coop's defense on this?

Milwaukee is not Chicago. Are you personally responsible for Bush and company's misdoings, including those who have gone to jail for it? Same "logic."

Is anyone else tired of the BFP allowing Coop's offensive behavior?

Gannett is a legitimate newsource. Coop's antics belong on the Daily Kos, Huffington Post, the National Enquirer or some other 2nd tier publication.

Having a strong opinion is one thing. Insults, base language, etc is another and reflects poorly in the BFP. You don't see this on other Gannett blogs.

Now ask yourself, what would Barack do?

ACORN is a criminal organization nationwide. They were also convicted in Oregon for voter fraud. The ACORNS and other terrorist-union-thug groups can hardly wait for an Obama victory. This means instead of secret votes on whether or not to join a union will be replaced by union goons handing "cards" to workers in full view of their peers. You can imagine what will happen if the poor guy refuses to sign it! Shades of Jimmy Hoffa!

You have to love Chicago politicians.... what a fine tradition.

Who else let's ya keep your hoods on?

You do realize that town hall.com is a "blog", don't you, deduce baggins?

The Reverend Martin Luther King was a "dreaded" Community Organizer.

No wonder McCain and the bigoted-trash, gop-slime, counterfeit- krishtin, Tennessee-Taliban base was so adamantly opposed to MLK Day.

NEK, are you saying the Big 'O' can't win on his own? Tell me its not so.

Funny, isn't it, that the only hooded Klu-Kluxer on the national stage is jw's beloved liberal dimocrat Sen. Robert Byrd?

From last night, it looked like the crowd liked McCain only slightly better than Lieberman. They don't trust him and don't like him.

Overall, the speech was about the lamest across both conventions. His message didn't come across well. I can't see independents buying his "I work for you" theme. If you repeat something too many times, it comes off as an untruth. The presentation of the speech killed the message.

Probably no one else noticed, but McCain blinks alot when he lies.

The end few minutes were odd almost as if the crowd was queued to energize. It was basically dead until the last minute when McCain started into some type of strange, but really uninspiring, savior chant. Very strange to say the least. It's almost as if the crowd was glad it was over. I sure was.

How many felonies was Kilpatrick convicted of, little fella?

How many were Scooter, Abramoff and Keating convicted of?

How many little old ladies got fleeced outta their savings because of Kilpatrick?

How many people got killed or maimed in Iraq for bupkis 'cause of Kilpatrick's criminal activity?

Good luck makin' a criminal connection between Obama and Kilpatrick, schmuck.

Ya won't have any more luck than you've had with Rezko and Ayers.

On the other hand, if doogie got a thousand bucks for every time they mentioned Dick Cheney's at gop-slime scumfest '08, Vermont would still be as broke as we are now under doogie's leadership.

Nice talkin' to ya.

Say goodnight, greasy.

"Probably no one else noticed, but McCain blinks alot when he lies."

Well, he's got a lot to blink about.

Even professional gopologist, David Brooks characterized Mittwit romney's speech as "borderline insane" on Charlie Rose Wednesday night.

Three psychotic, slime-filled days in St Paul without so much as a whisper of dick cheney's name.

The alternative Ron Paul Fest drew better than the gops did Tuesday.

Can you imagine if there'd been an alternative Hillary Fest in Denver. We never would have heard the end of it from the sclm or nameless-nitwit nation here.

McCain wanted Lieberman or Ridge but the Tennessee Taliban rules the gop-slime society, so he's stuck with Palin.

She's another corrupt gop-slime Governor of Alaska who's already under investigation 20 months into her first term. She's fired up the nitwits, but they were gonna vote gop anyway. Now they're just a bit more enthusiastic.

She's not gonna get any Hillary voters or suburban independent women.

They're pro-choice and concerned with education and childcare issues along with Iraq and the cost of gas and heating oil after 8years of cluelessly-corrupt, gop-slime oil men in the WH.

What the hell do they care about field dressin' a moose?

Where the hell was clueless condi? She's the big hook for women and minorities along with the equally-invisible Colin Powell.

Not a word from the General. Why wouldn't he be the good gop soldier and endorse McCain?

They both hate bush, cheney and rummy. They've got that in common. Evidently, even that's not enough to get Powell to endorse McCain.

What's with that?

Oh Coopy!

After McChange and Palin move into the WH, Obama is going to Hollywood to do a remake of "The Great Imposter".
Can anyone think of a person more qualified for the lead role?

NEK..

"After McChange and Palin move into the WH, Obama is going to Hollywood to do a remake of "The Great Imposter".
Can anyone think of a person more qualified for the lead role?"

Yeah, John McCain.

Oh, by the way, nekwit, it's spelled "Impostor".

You're welcome.

Always a pleasure, nekkie boy.

Thanks teach! Obama fits either way.

"McCain, after he changes status quo in Washington will be starring in "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington"

Gee, I hate to keep confusin' your ignorant ass with the facts, nekkie boy, but he's already been there for 26 years as part of the incompetent gop-scum problem, so that outsider snake oil is gonna be a tougher sell than this meshuggah malarkey about how the Admiral's Brat who drank his way through Annapolis, crashed four planes, ditched the starter wife in the hospital, ran off with the beer heiress he met in a Waikiki gin mill, can't remember how many houses he has or what kinda car he drives is a "man of the people" and a force for change.

His party has been in power for the past eight years. He's voted with Bush 95 percent of the time.

After 8 years of unprecedented gop-slime cluelessness, corruption and incompetence, the world needs another eight years like it needs another Rocky Sequel. Rocky MM - the champ fights incontinence, nursing home red tape and struggles to recall what comes after, Yo!

McCain's not just the problem, he's the poster boy for the problem.

Now you're not only tryin' to tell me that the people responsible for this mess aren't responsible for this mess, but only by rewarding these clueless-cretin clowns for their incompetence and corruption by keeping them in power for another eight years, sticking with the incompetent devil we know and staying the same can we bring about change.

Sure, and the only way for a compulsive gambler who can't pick a winner to break a losing streak is to take out a third mortgage on the house and bet on another race.

Gee, ya gonna try and tell the Israeli Knesset that the only way to rid the World of the scourge of Anti-Semitism is to rid the world of the Jews now, too, nekwit.

You're up after ahmadinejad. Go grab yourself a bat. You're gonna need it, nekwit.

Shalom, schmuck.

Coop - You definitely need to relocate to a more friendly country. It just ain't gonna go your way on Nov 4th so you should make your moving plans now.

NEK..

"Coop - You definitely need to relocate to a more friendly country. It just ain't gonna go your way on Nov 4th so you should make your moving plans now."

Well, at least your ignorant anonymous ass isn't still tryin' to tell me that "staying the same is the only path to change" nekwit nonsense anymore.

Nevertheless, ya still haven't told me how NJ and Delaware is gonna go red for openers, little fella.

Focus, nekkie boy. Look around you. This is Vermont, nekwit. It don't get any bluer than this.

So, now that we've established that fundamental reality and we're back on Planet Earth, grab your take back vermunt trash, goose-step on outta here, tell your story walkin' and take it where the climate suits your sheet.

Your ignorant-trash world is gone with the wind.

Say goodnight, greasy.

Unfortunately the transplants have colored this state blue- the Vermonters are still red. Most Vermonters want/expect to pay for what they get, the transplants want the same except they don't think they should have to work for it- they want those who work hard to SHARE what they earn. Like I said before, Vermonters will vote for McCain/Palin, the remainder of the voters in Vermont will vote for Obama and whoever he decides is his VP (may not be Biden).

NEWS FLASH
Howierd Dean & company threw out 12,000 American Flags when they left the Democratic Convention in Colorado. The local Boy Scouts (more patriotic than the Democrats) have salvaged the flags and are putting them to good use.

1. I've got a reason for running. I talk about a larger goal, which is
to call upon the best of America ... It's reform and renewal. Part of
the renewal is a set of high standards and to remind people that the
greatness of America really does depend on neighbors helping neighbors
and children finding mentors. Palin or Bush?

2. I am convinced we have to reform -- we've got to not embrace the
status quo and just be going along to get along ... We are going to
reform and we are going to be serving for the right reasons. Bush or
Palin?

On political hiring (and firing)

3. Well, a couple of lawmakers are pretty angry with me for replacing
... at-will political appointments ... it is my prerogative, my right,
to appoint members whom I believe will do best for the people whom we
are serving. So I look forward to any kind of investigation or questions
being asked because I've got nothing to hide. Palin or Bush?

4. You want somebody who can do the job. That's the most important
criterion, somebody who is qualified, somebody who can get a job done.
And on this particular issue, the one you're referring to, they serve at
my pleasure ... There had been no credible evidence of any wrongdoing
... And there will be more hearings to determine what I've just said.
Bush or Palin?

On the fourth estate

5. [The media] hasn't always been fair to me ... I would say, at first,
I intrigued people. And now I think we're settling into a traditional
relationship with the liberal media ... My only answer is, I'd rather be
underestimated. Palin or Bush?

6. I'm not a member of the permanent political establishment. And I've
learned quickly, these past few days, that if you're not a member in
good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a
candidate unqualified for that reason alone. Bush or Palin?

On experience, and why it doesn't matter

7. I don't have 30 years of political experience under my belt ...
that's a good thing, that's a healthy thing. That means my perspective
is fresher, more in touch with the people I will be serving. I would use
that as an advantage. Palin or Bush?

8. I think that's the old ... game of trying to tear somebody down. I've
been through this before. "Can't possibly do the job. Never held
office." And my answer then was "Give me a chance. Give me a chance to
lead" ... If you want somebody who has had -- you know -- life
experiences that may not be -- conforms to the Washington mind-set --
give me a chance. Bush or Palin?

On sweet, sweet crude

9. To confront the threat that Iran might seek to cut off nearly a fifth
of world energy supplies ... or that terrorists might strike again at
the Abqaiq facility in Saudi Arabia ... or that Venezuela might shut off
its oil deliveries ... we Americans need to produce more of our own oil.
Palin or Bush?

10. Oil prices have risen sharply, and that increase has been reflected
at American gasoline pumps. Now much of the oil consumed in America
comes from abroad ... Some of that energy comes from unstable regions
and unfriendly regimes. This makes us more vulnerable to supply shocks
and price spikes beyond our control -- and that puts both our economy
and our security at risk ... Our nation must produce more oil. And we
must start now. Bush or Palin?

Gee, were they made in China, nekwit?

Dean, eh?

Oh, you mean that competent, effective, qualified Governor we used to have back when Vermont used to work. Before doogie screwed the pooch and ran the joint into the ground while shillin' for Entergy and Fairpoint.

Who cares whether Emergency 911 works or Southern Vermont turns into Chernobyl - Doogie's on the case and image is everything.

Did your ignorant anonymous ass need to put some extra tin foil in your cap to boost the signal and improve the reception from Denver, nekkie boy?

Dean probably did buy those flags in China- Dean was Governor when the first deals were made with Entergy.
Dean introduced Act 60 and now taxes are out of control and the current legislative majority has no clue what they are doing. Particularly Shumlin and Symington. Dean also chased all the health care providers out of state now we have one of the most expensive health insurance costs in the country.
BTW, I will stick to my predictions on DE and NJ.

As a conservative I give thanks every day that the dimocrats put Crazy Howie in as DNC. Guess there was nothing left for him to screw up in Vermont, so now he's doing it to the dims. 50-state plan? Gee, I wonder which Southern state the dims are planning on carrying this fall? In a period where almost everything that could go wrong for the Reps has happened, the dims are about to pull another Dukaksis. Thanks, Howie!

bubba...

"As a conservative I give thanks every day that the dimocrats put Crazy Howie in as DNC."

And as a member of the fact-based community, I thank my lucky stars that you're a con, bubble boy.

Given the fact that, under Dean's 50-State Strategy, the Dems have regained control of Congress after 12 years of gop-slime incompetence, corruption and cluelessness, taken control of more Governor's Chairs and State Legislatures under Dean's leadership and are in position to pick up even more seats in Congress, more Governor's Chairs, gain control or increase their margins in more State Legislatures before the Obama family fumigates the WH, rids the joint of the stench of gop-slime corruption, cluelessness and incompetence, moves in and restores, honor, dignity, class and intellect to the White House for the first time in eight years.

If your ignorant anonymous ass thinks that's a good thing, I can only hope and pray that cons from coast to coast prove to be half as smart as you.

If we're gonna build a fence across the Mexican Border after incompetent gop-trash policies and practices left it open in the first place, you clueless-cretin cons are gonna make some first-rate posts.

Always a pleasure.

The only thing I want to see from Dean is his secret papers that he continues to withhold from the public. What do y'all think he's hiding? Life in the closet?

bubba...
"The only thing I want to see from Dean is his secret papers that he continues to withhold from the public."

File a Freedom of Information Act, little fella. That's what Shrub, the Doogie-Dubie Debacle and gop-slime everywhere make the Media do.

If you wanna go toe-to-toe on gop-slime secrecy, knock yourself out, schmuck.

Cheney wants to reclassify weather reports from 1955.

List the gops who've been busted and/or forced to resign under a corrupt gop-slime injustice department who thinks the AG is the President's personal lawyer.

One of the first things shrub did was to reclassify all sorts of previously-released stuff from Reagan and his old man's Iran Contra Ass.

This is the most secretive administration in history, schmuck.

"What do y'all think he's hiding? Life in the closet?"

Time for your ignorant anonymous ass to go back in the coffin, bubble boy.

Dean can't hide the fact that after being thrust into the job under difficult and extremely rare if not unprecedented circumstances, after 12 years with divided legislatures and legislatures controlled by both parties at one time or another, he left Vermont in far better shape than he found it.

Jim equals joblessness can't hide the fact that Vermont's in far worse shape today than the Vermont he inherited from Howard Dean.

Granted, that's not entirely his fault. The entire Country is in worse shape than it was when shrub was installed on the throne on 1/20/01 when he found it.

But doogie supports shrub and the policies that put the Country in the toilet. He used those same policies here with the same results.

Like his boy, shrub, doogie is incompetent trash whose only concern is Doogie.

One look at his record makes it abundantly clear that he doesn't give a damn about Vermont.

Say goodnight, greasy.

Hey Coop- your dumocrats do good!!

You can keep your blinders on and ignore the facts - or wake up and see the REAL FACTS!!!!

..facts are facts!!

George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine.
A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.

4) the DOW JONES hit a record high--14,000 +
5) American's were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations o'seas, living large!...
But American's wanted 'CHANGE'! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress & yep--we got 'CHANGE' all right. In the PAST YEAR:
1) Consumer confidence has plummeted ;
2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing!;
3) Unemployment is up to 5%
(a 10% increase);
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS & prices still dropping;
5)1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
6)THE DOW is probing another low~~$2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS!

YEP , IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE!...AND WE SURE GOT IT!!!....NOW OBAMA,-AND BIDEN SAY HE'S GONNA BE 'THE MAN'--CLAIMS HE'S GONNA REALLY GIVE US CHANGE!!....JUST HOW MUCH MORE 'CHANGE' DO YA THINK YOU CAN STAND???....

..facts are facts!!

George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine."

Nice try, nekwit. This is even phonier than your fixed news nonsense about Dean trashing flags in Denver you've been spewin' for a couple of days now.

You pull out this delusional dreck every Month or so. It's as lame as the reagan won the Cold War psychotic slop you con clowns spew.

Facts are facts.

On 1/20/01, there was a surplus. It's gone. It's been replaced with the biggest Federal Deficit since the first brain-dead Bushleaguer was in Office.

Clinton had the same corrupt, clueless, gop-slime Congress for the last six of his eight years in Office that Bush had for the first six of his eight years in Office.

Seven years ago, their were two Twin Towers dominating the Lower Manhattan skyline.

Facts are facts, alright, and this is Bush's gop-slime disaster from stem to stern, schmuck.

There's not one thing you can pin on the Democrats for this economy.

None. Zip. Nada. Bupkis.

Bush didn't veto a single spending bill for six years. With the help of the late, unlamented gop-slime, incompetent, clueless, corrupt gop-slime Congress, he's vetoed every Dem measure to curtail spending and waste in Iraq, Afghanistan and here at home.

Clinton managed to get rid of the first Bush Deficit despite being saddled with a clueless, corrupt, incompetent Gop-slime Congress for the last six of his eight years in Office.

Bush had the same gop-slime Congress for his first six years. These are his chickens comin' home to roost, schmuck. He ran the joint into the ground.

He's the worst, most incompetent, clueless and corrupt President in US History.

He's blown Buchanan completely out of the water.

Of course, his Mama is a direct descendant of Franklin Pierce, the only other possibility for the short list.

Nixon was a crook, but he wasn't an incompetent one like this schmuck.

Say goodnight, greasy.

Latest polls: Bush, approval rating 30%; Congress, approval rating 17.8% (this includes Sanders, Leahy, and Welch) Like Harry Truman, Bush will soon be recognized as one of the better Presidents of out time.At the same time, jw will be recognized as one of the biggest a**holes of all time.
