New Yorker thinks VT adorable, but gov wrong

The New Yorker's political blog includes talk this week about instant runoff voting and Vermont. The bill was, of course, vetoed last week by Gov. Jim Douglas. Calls our state "adorable." Is that an insult or a compliment?

It makes a point about Douglas' veto message (What was unexpected was the message’s laughably abysmal intellectual quality.) that advocates of IRV have been making around these adorable parts the last few days.

It says of IRV's prospects: "Never fear, I.R.V. fans. One of these days, Vermont will have a different governor."

Don't we have enough New Yorkers running Vermont? Nothing more disgusts me than Tony Klein talking about what "Vermonters" want.

I guess Tony wasn't elected by Vermonters, so he has no right to talk.

So many big fish to fry and this is what the BFP elite chooses to focus blog posts on. Why not post something asking Vermonters how they feel about their governor dumping all the State's headaches back on our local communities without any resources to accomplish the many tasks at hand? That, Terri, ain't so adorable.

Who's Governor is wrong? Didn't I read about some sexcapades with New York's last 2 Governors!!

New York, home of the carpet baggers. You put Hillary in office because she couldn't win in her own state (people knew what was in her closet). I drive in your state and have to pay tolls on your roads and higher prices for gas due to the higher taxes. Apparently things are so good you have time to worry about Vermont campaign laws.

Yea, NY sucks.

So what's that got to do with IRV??

Terri, I think you are the most thoughtful blogger around VT politics. Plus -- it seems, witness your "comments" volume -- you have a broad audience, which is good news for the BFP. Keep it coming, and do not be dismayed by some of your correspondents. Everyone gets a chance at the microphone. Thanks for what you do.

I don't give a rat's a** what the New Yorker or New Yorkes have to say about anything
Don't waste my time

Pollina for Governor

"Why do "Vermonters" keep voting for the idiots that state keeps sending us? (i.e., Kunin, Sanders, Dean, etc.)"

Evidently, most Vermonters think they're the best choice for the job and don't subscribe to your brain-dead bupkis, little bigot boy.

If they did, your candidate would get the most votes. Obviously, they didn't.

"Do we not have enough native idiots?"

Evidently, most Vermonters don't think you're up to the task or subscribe to your take back vermont-trash views, little fella.

If they did, Ruthie Dwyer would be completing her first decade as Governor, the VT Legislature would be solidly in the hands of the gops and the VT Congressional Delegation would not be who they are.

In case you haven't noticed, she's not, it's not and they're not.

When it comes to speaking for VT, clearly, you don't.

Dismissed.

If I spoke for PRESENT DAY Vermont I would have myself voluntarily committed.

What evidence do ya have that you ever spoke for Vermont, little bigot boy?

While most VTers have voted the 'idiots' in, who cares?

The 'idiots' don't seem to get anything done...ever. And when they try to pass something, mean old Jim D vetoes it and the 'idiots' can not get their act together enough to override it.

Maybe Bubba is right.

Really? So are the Senate Rules allowing doogie the dim to veto mere majorities new and different from the ones they've had in place for decades, little factually-challenged fella?

If so, feel free to fail to come up with the evidence to substantiate that ignorant slop with all the other evidence you've failed to come up with to substantiate the rest of your factually-challenged ignorant slop, little fella.

As for this session, let's see how doogie the dim fares in late June.

Dismissed.

"let's see how doogie the dim fares in late June. "

I can't wait. I hope the Dims vacations don't get in the way of their responsibilities again. What a committed group they are.
