Fun with snowmen

The other night at the Republican presidential debate, Howard Dean asked a question. Something like why would Americans vote for any Republican when they so clearly want change. He then gestured to his left and said, "We'd like to know" as the camera showed his little buddy, a snowman.

It looks at first blush like Dean was having another one of those regrettable moments. But what Dean was referring to were comments from Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney saying he didn't want to take part in a debate that included questions from snowmen, such as those asked at a Democratic debate with questions from YouTube users.

From the New York Times' Adam Nagourney in July:

"Mr. Romney described some of the YouTube questions as demeaning, singling out a
question on global warming from a snowman. For now, the Republican field seems
content to stay on the traditional road. They are debating Sunday morning on
national television (“This Week with George Stephanopoulos” on ABC News) from
Iowa. You can be sure there will be no snowmen asking questions."

Well, Dean was apparently speaking on the snowman's behalf. See the YouTube video here.

You seem to have forgotten the original remark and your response.

The poster said, "don't expect change from the Dems" and you questioned him on this. The response was, because they helped get us into the Iraq war when they knew better.

So, I reiterate the original poster's remark: don't (necessarily) expect better from the Dems when they get elected. They are playing the anti-war card only because the war turned unpopular.

Bush never lied to anyone about Iraq; he received the SAME intelligence from the CIA that ALL democrats did. How soon the libs forget Bill Clinton, Kerry, and the rest of the dims stating back in the late 90's how we HAD to stop Iraq because of their WMDs. The poor intelligence is in part the result of Jaime Gorelick and Clinton staff that did all they could to prevent the sharing of info between agencies, but really goes back to the Church (dems) committee that really started dismantling our military and CIA. It makes me laugh to hear all of these lefties NOW whining about "being lied to"!

This statement was misleading because it failed to acknowledge the intelligence community's deep division on the issue of whether Iraq was actively pursuing its nuclear program.

As far as your point that Kerry didn't invade Irag, how could he? He never was President except maybe in your mind.

The fact Clinton didn't invade is irrelevant. In fact early on he said he agreed with GW's decision although now he is trying to double talk his way out of it.

Do everyone a favor and go back to work. I am sure the line at the Ben and Jerry's counter is starting to back up.

Bubba, you're wilfully blind. The evidence is now ample that, despite Saddam's bluffing, the intelligence and the weapons inspectors confirmed that he had no WMDs. Ture, he wanted us to think he did, but the evidence didn't support it. Bush chose to hear only what he wanted to hear even though it was of questionable validity, and wilfully ignored all countervailing evidence. The weapons inspectors said "no." The U.N. said "no." And everybody knew the yellowcake allegation was a fake. Bush simply wanted an excuse to invade Iraq and get rid of Saddam, thinking he could convert the Islamic world to western-style democracy. And he wanted the intelligence to justify an invasion. The leaks and the tell-all books by insiders corroborate this. And the fact that the White House felt the need to immorally retaliate against a person who said there was no yellowcake sale confirms that the fix was in on the invasion. The fact that the spineless Dems went along is not proof that the intelligence Bush shared was valid. It just proves that they were spineless. It seems that just about everyone in the world recognizes this, except you, Bubba. Tell us the reliable information you have to the contrary.

Critics of the Bush Administration's decision to invade Iraq aren't obligated to prove that Saddam had no WMD or links to 9/11. Bush, Cheney and their coalition of the clueless likes of you are are obligated to prove that he did.
