Straw results

The Vermont Democratic Party just released the results of its straw poll of presidential candidates. And the winner is Barack Obama.

The party reports that nearly 800 people responded. They had to give the party a bit of information which may have turned some participants off.
Anyway, here's the tally:

Sen. Obama -- 36.0%
Sen. Edwards -- 29.2%
Sen. Clinton -- 10.2%
Gov. Richardson -- 9.7%
Rep. Kucinich -- 8.2%
Other -- 3.7%
Sen. Biden -- 1%
Sen. Gravel -- 1%
None -- 0.5%
Sen. Dodd -- 0.3%.

Anybody surprised with the results?

Comments:
Enough of these poll results. Don't you know this is where we come to play "seperated at birth" with photos? Who wants this kind of real news when we can instead escape with photo comparisons of staffers and stars?

The attitude of the Democratic party in this state is unreal. To particate in the straw poll, we had to fork over our personal information. Now - to get a prebate, we have to share information about our income with any Tom, Dick, or Harry that asks.

These people were so focussed on illegal wiretapping, etc. at the national level - meanwhile they completely destroy our privacy here at home.

Obama's comments regarding use of military force is telling and so typical of Democrats. They have to be ready to blow things up in order to win...or so they think.

Who really cares about these people? My vote at this time doesn't go to any of them.

Any of these people would do a better job than Bush and Cheney.

Who cares about this - the election is a year away! How about the Democratic party getting some focus on this horrible prebate privacy problem!!!!

Priorities - let's get them straight.

Everyone knows that Vince Illuzzi won this straw poll as a write-in candidate.

Who cares is right! How about an outsider like Bloomberg? Lets shake it up.

Governor Richardson just half a point behind Sen. Clinton? That's good news for Richardson...not so good news for Clinton.

Richardson comes in 4th. You have to spin that news pretty hard to make it "good news for Richardson."

Bah hah! Check out the two losers in this picture.

Apparently, someone (who reads and posts on these blogs and is likely a Douglas operative) has polled about privacy and thinks it's a way to beat up on our legislature so the R's -- whose track record on privacy is well known -- can get back some seats. There are some valid concerns in the current law, that can be solved by tweaking the legislation.
