8:40 p.m. Tarrant concedes

Reporter Jill Fahy is just back from Tarrant headquarters, where the Republican millionaire conceded the U.S. Senate race to Independent Bernie Sanders. Tarrant will go down in the books -- at least until 2008 -- as the candidate who spent $7 million -- the most per vote in a self-funded federal race in U.S. history.

HIP HIP HORAYYYYY.

Let's hope that he cleans up his ugly signs by morning. If not, we clean them up and ship them to him in Florida.

watch it now on channel 17 or streaming here: Channel17.org

I hope that people who run for office will sit down tomorrow and think about what an incredible waste of money his campaign was. And I hope people like Jim Douglas, who's been, if nothing else, nasty and petulent in his ads and demeanor on the campaign trail, will think about the tone they set.

God bless Fred Tuttle. Was that really only 8 years ago when a man apologized for spending more than $100, when someone like a retired farmer without a lick of experience except in a silly movie was able to meet a man with money.

Bring back Vermont! Bring back Vermont elections when people were civil and didn't waste a lot of money on trying to get my vote! Bring back Vermont elections where people weren't so nasty.

What a disapointment.... we're still stuck with Bernie. A loud mouth that doesn't accomplish anything but stir up hate and discontent.

It's just amazing how much money was spent in this race. Let's hope this is not a sign of elections to come.

Just goes to show flatlanders can't buy the Green Mountain State.

"Just goes to show flatlanders can't buy the Green Mountain State."

Yeah, they can just create jobs here, right.

Funny, I have never heard a Vermonter with a Brooklyn accent.

Give me a break!

Bernie the millionaire hasn't created any jobs for this state. He just fleeces the idiots that he gets to vote for him. He and Jane are laughing all the way to the bank.

When Republicans loose they just insult the voters.

What a bunch of whiners, why don't you pack up and head down to Texas. Do we really need any more rich white guys down in Washington D.C. telling us how it is and what to do? Rich conceded, why don't you?

Well, just goes to show that Vermonters are lost if they elected that Communist.

If communism is caring about all people, ordinary people, not just the rich, then count me in. The world is rolling ahead like an out of control snowball. Its time we think to survival and the future, our actions are in need of being held accountable.

Tarrant wasn't much of a winner anyway. He bailed out and conceded way too early. He was trending to lose, but 60% of the vote still needed to be counted. Who wants a person who won't go the distance?

Also, Tarrant separated his camp from the GOP. He may be running his own election, but most of his support is part of the GOP camp. He fractioned the GOP base. How is that bringing people together?

Another thing. Be thankful that he did not get elected. Imagine having an incumbent with $300 million to spend.

How come the flaming left liberals can slam and insult anyone they please, but if a conservative says something negative, they are oh so bad?? Always a double standard for the far left.
