Shoulder to shoulder politics in Vt.

Here's a little slice of Vermont politics for you: When Sen. Phil Scott announces his candidacy for lieutenant governor this evening, it will be just before the Associated General Contractors of Vermont annual dinner.

One of the guests at that dinner will be Mark Snelling, with whom Scott will be competing for the Republican nomination. Scott owns a contracting business. Snelling will be there, congratulating the winner of the Richard Snelling Economic Development Award, named after his father, the former governor.

Mark Snelling said he considered staying away from the event, given that Scott will be making his announcement there, but decided against it.

That's very interesting... Since the AGC is the one promoting Scott's announcement (a member)!

Sure looks like the AGC is part of the campaign team! I wonder how Mark Snelling feels about that!

Here's the email from the AGC ---

Congrats to Phil Scott - good luck to you!
Those contractor campaign dollars equal the end of everything we love about our state. Phil is about Phil and making more money for his own construction business and all his friends businesses.
So is the AGC a political arm of the GOP and Phil Scott?
Realtors and contractors love them some GOP.
Just like the enviro nutjobs and the NEA are the political arm of the left wing
Why would being supported by the organizations that represent employers who create jobs be bad for a politican? You no-growth people are nuts...and killing our economy.
Vermonters should support Phil Scott
