All the president's visits

As Vermont Daily Briefing pointed out, The Washington Times has a column today about President George W. Bush's aversion to Vermont.

In it, Vermont Republican Party Chairman Rob Roper earns the characterization of a typical laid-back Vermonter.

I actually don't think we'll see the president here in the next two months.

- Terri Hallenbeck

Comments:
Roper is NOT a Vermonter.

Roper is not laid back either!

In fact, Roper is a caustic, vitriolic, partisan hack who is ultra conservative!

Maybe he can hitch a ride with bubbakis, move in with shrub and kill three birds with one stone.

Get rid of those Superfund sites and prevent one from ever foulin' the joint in the first place.

What's not to like.

Mr. Roper was terrific on Three's Company!

Aren't all party chairs "partisan hacks"? Isn't partisan what they get paid to be? Knowing what they're paid to be, we can take what they say with a grain of salt.

And neither Roper nor Carleton could be characterized as vitriolic by any stretch of the imagination. (Some people on this site, however...) I know them both. I've heard them both speak publicly. And I've read their op-ed pieces.

I am curious if the author ever actually met Roper. The only thing actually laid back about him is his attitude toward recruting for the Vermont House. Of course, anyone outside the Beltway is a laid back hick to a Washington Times writer.

I see it as a badge of honor that Dubya won't visit VT!!

VT appears to be the most liberal, partisan State in the Union. It has done almost everything it could to attack and smear President Bush for eight years, including carrying on about impeachment and arrest, and accusing him of being corrupt, criminal, and a killer. Why he would visit -- and be subject to further vitriol -- is beyond me.

Modern "Vermonters" are at their hateful, loony best when spouting off about Bush.

Excuse me, but Dubya has brought all this on himself. Frankly he and Cheney should be tried for war crimes!

Rob Roper is a good and caring person. I am his neighbor. He is gentle and kind.

His fault might be that he holds strong views about how Vermont might better prosper that conflict are in conflict with how the left views the world; perfectly divide the misery; Rob wants to imperfectly share the prosperity.

I regularly see him mowing his lawn. He is just like the rest of us, he wants a better future for us all. He simply believes we can best achieve this through work and freedom, rather than entitlement and slavery.

rob's nice. so is ian carleton. just because you don't agree with someone's views doesn't mean they're a "caustic vitriolic hack."

No, shrub, cheney, rovesputin, rummy, wofie, scooter, gonzo, meshuggah mukasey, flush, the frauds at fixed news, scalia, thomas and the rest of the 43rd reich should be tossed in irons, shipped to the Hague as freight and at rnc expense to gp before the World Court to be indicted, tried, convicted, sentenced and executed as the War Criminals they so clearly are.

In fact, since there's not statute of limitations on war crimes, ya can toss henry kissinger in the hold with the rest of the gop-slime swine and let him finally get what's comin' to him in this life. He's as bad as that klan cretin, edgar ray killen who was free as a bird for exactly 41 years walkin' the streets of Philadelphia, MS until he was finally convicted and brought to justice on 6/21/05 for his role in the 6/21/64 slayings of Civil Rights Workers Schwerner, Chaney and Goodman despite the fact that he'd been braggin' openly about gettin' away with it the whole time.

Kissinger's at least as bad as he is.

Then again, perhaps shrub will pardon him, too.

Always a pleasure.

In other words, you're still dumb, you're still scum, your ignorant anonymous ass has still got bupkis and ya just fell off the schmuck truck and landed on your head. Again.

Thanks for clearin' that up, little fella.

Tiny dancer don't like it when folks say mean things about the fuhrer and accuse him of sayin' mean things about the Jews. And worse.

Given this latest psychotic-slop spew of yours, little factose-intolerant fella, clearly, there's not much that isn't beyond your sorry butt.

Take it where the climate suits your sheet, schmuck.

Disappear.

I agree that Bush and Cheney should be tried for war crimes and I also am in agreement with regarding Bush's nonvisit as a badge of honor.
Good riddance to Bush and Cheney.

Please, the adults are talking now. JW, go to bed.
