The rumpled look

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., was given the dubious distinction of being one of the Senate's top three "fashion victims," according to poll results published in this month's Washingtonian magazine.

The magazine, which does the poll every year, surveyed more than 1,500 Capitol Hill staffers of both political parties to ask them which senators and House members they think are the smartest, meanest, most clueless, hardest workers, biggest hunks, etc.

Sanders, who has been in office less than two years, came in second on the list of Senate fashion victims for his no-nonsense suits, comfortable shoes and unruly hair.

He was behind Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md. and just ahead of Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich.
Since no Republicans made the list, it's possible that GOP staffers weighed in more heavily on this category.

Maybe Bernie needs to wear more red?

Comments:
Sanders should wear camouflage and a muzzle

Bernie is about substance not the superficial.

Republicans are just more fashionable. We can't help it!

Think of Cindy McCain, who wears $400,000 outfits and pretends to care about working class people.

You guys talk about fashion. The grown ups will be talking about the war, the economy, the budget deficit, the housing crisis ...

wow. a $400,000 outfit. must have missed that one!

That's just silly. You can wear whatever you want and still care about working-class people.

My mistake -- it was only a $300,000 outfit.

That makes John McCain's $520 loafers look like a deal!

Has Bernie mowed his lawn yet?

I wonder if it's just a coincidence that the three biggest slobs in the Senate are also three of the biggest idiots?

More red would fit the colors of his mother country.

hmmmmmm..

Texas?

Have you ever seen the Bernie Sanders droids campaigning at fairs and other public gatherings? Commie red shirts!

I vote strictly on what color the campaign shirts are.

I don't care about the economy, the minimum wage, education, the war in Iraq, Afganistan, Osama on the loose ... the only thing that really matters are shirts.

Yeah, 400 grand worth of hideous.

As Colbert so precisely and pithily put it, "Cindy McCain was resplendent in a dazzling ensemble, perfect for conventions, rainy days and commanding the bridge of the Starship Enterprise."

"You guys talk about fashion. The grown ups will be talking about the war, the economy, the budget deficit, the housing crisis ..."

Yeah, it's all hideously-expensive and expensively-hideous clothes, lipstick, pigs, and bogus outrage with the gop-slime society.

Then again, if you had their record, you wouldn't want to talk about the issues, the facts or the relevant, either.

Nobody, nowhere wants to conduct that scum symphony.

Then you're more than qualified to be a gop, you're more than qualified to be a VP on the gop-slime ticket.

I don't recall seeing Inhofe, Colbern or Craig on that list, bubble boy.

Say goodnight, greasy.
