Denver doings

Looks like those of you who gets your kicks out of riling each other up must have returned from your holiday in the south of France. May I suggest another trip, somewhere without Internet access?

So, it turns out the Obama people were not bluffing about Biden. The convention kicks off today, and as it does, blogosphere meets print media meets blogosphere. Or something like that.

Vermont Daily Briefing blogger Philip Baruth is a delegate to the convention and will be sharing insight from his inside perch through the Free Press. You can find it HERE.

Here's what I'm hoping he will tell us: What actually goes on at the convention. I mean beyond the speeches that we'll hear on prime-time TV. I want to know what it's really like. All party? Some substance? Pep rally or strategy session?

When Vermont's delegation is rubbing shoulders with So-and-so is it about shoulder rubbing or are there actual connections being made that will lead to something actual happening on the streets and in the voting booth?

It's a lot to ask, Philip, but you're on the inside and we need to know.

Which night is Hillary accepting the nomination? The night she speaks? The night her husband speaks? The night the film about her is shown? Or the night that her name is formally placed into nomination?

A strong leader would not have allowed a vanquished opponent to steal the show like this. One big night at Mile High Stadium will not make up for successive nights of the Clintons.

I can just picture the fawning, gushing, condescending reports coming from Baruth, of for that matter, any reporter for the FREEP. It's just a far-left love-in for another dim empty suit. My guess is that Mrs. Hussein Obama will bring us to tears tonite professing her deep love and pride for the country, even if she has to evict the needy from her hospital as part of her $300,000 plus a year job. Come to think of it, what with her husband's 4 million last year, why do they have to begger from Tony Rezko?

It's been really entertaining to read the Green Mountain Daily blog junta as it gets its big break in the form of a trip to Denver. If they would put their money where their mouths, or fingers, is and are, they would campaign to be an actual delegate and write about themselves, which is what they enjoy anyway. VT's delegation has an action packed schedule at the convention.

Today, they have a pancake breakfast with Pat Leahy.

Tomorrow they listen to a breakfast speech from Peter Welch and then go to help build a house for Denver's homeless.

After that they get to participate in the vote to nominate B.O.

Quite an action packed schedule and a really driving force within the party.

The BFP really should have sent a reporter to cover this compelling display of democracy in action but then probably couldn't afford the travel costs and the No Doze the reporter would need to stay awake.

Perhaps some day jw can tell us all how Bush "stole" Florida when all counts and recounts continued to favor Bush. No credible analysis has EVER claimed Gore had the election "stolen"! The dims tried to force a recount ONLY in heavy-dim areas while skipping Republican ones! Sort of sounds like the Doug Hoffer/House "study" that showed Vermont to be a low-tax state, using only the top 20 tax states as comparisons and "forgetting" to include property taxes!!! Rendell is right. 90% of the media are fawning lackies of the far left, notably Olberman, Matthews and Andrea Mitchell. Hillary never had a chance.
