Idiot's guide to politics

This from the Empire State. Not only personal and professional bad judgment, but who's throwing around that kind of money?

NEW YORK (AP) — Gov. Eliot Spitzer, the crusading politician who
built his career on rooting out corruption, has told senior advisers he was
involved in a prostitution ring, The New York Times reported Monday.
A law enforcement official tells The Associated Press
that Spitzer’s involvement in the prostitution ring was caught on a
federal wiretap.
Spitzer apologized to his family and the
public on Monday at a hastily called news conference. He did not elaborate on
the story. With his wife at his side, Spitzer told reporters that he
“acted in a way that violates my obligations to my family.”

“I have disappointed and failed to live up to the standard I expected of myself,” he
said. “I must now dedicate some time to regain the trust of my family.”
The Times reported that a person with knowledge of
the governor’s role believes the governor is identified as a client in court
papers. Four people allegedly connected to a high-end prostitution ring called
Emperors Club VIP were arrested last week.
The Web site of the Emperors Club VIP displays photographs of
scantily clad women with their faces hidden. It also shows hourly rates
depending on whether the prostitutes were rated with one diamond, the lowest
ranking, or seven diamonds, the highest. The most highly ranked prostitutes cost
$5,500 an hour, prosecutors said.

Comments:
Freaking hypocrite! His alibi will be that he was there to investigate the smell of burning rubber to see if it was connected to power generation.

Spitzer should ask Martha Stewart to tell him about the accommodation and food in federal prison.

Let's see how many of the pols who wanted Larry Craig to resign from the Senate now call on Spitzer to resign as governor.

David Vitter, Republican Senator from Louisiana, was caught in a similar prostitution ring. He's still in the Senate.

That's always the thing. Democrats get caught with women and Republicans get caught with boys. Who has the moral high ground here?

News flash: Guess what -- piggishness is a bipartisan trait. Unfortunately, when Republicans are pigs, liberals scream, "Republicans are pigs." When Democrats are pigs, liberals scream, "Republicans are pigs, too."

Republicans hate Bill Clinton for Monica Lewinsky but forgive David Vitter for whoremongering.

I'm a Democrat and I think Larry Craig, David Vitter and Elliot Spitzer should all resign.

Have a little sympathy for the guy and the affect on his family.

It's the interesting thing about humans. From time to time they fail and hurt others. What is the saying....let he who is without sin throw the first stone.

$5,500 an hour? It's cheaper than a divorce....

Hey why doesn't anyone call for Barney Frank to resign? Kept a male prostitute in his government-paid apartment, gave him a free parking space. And how about Gary Studds, another pervert Dimocrat, molested boy pages! Hypocrits!

I think bubba is jealous.

Bubba has so many mancrushes. For sure he's jealous. He's latent and proud of it. And he's also one of those 70+ guys who still wears a Speedo. Yech!

"Anonymous said...

Is there something you want to tell us?

Yes. There is something I want to tell you: bubba is creepy.

Why do men who cheat and lie get married in the first place? Does I love you and I promise mean anything anymore? Or am I the world's biggest fool for believing in my husband? I'd really like to know.

Republicans have threatened Spitzer with impeachment if he doesn't resign within 48 hours. Wish the Dems had the guts in Washington,

He should resign, especially because he held himself up as champion of all that is right. In truth, there are no perfect people, whatever their political persuasion. All "stars" we elevate to a pedestal have clay feet. As George Orwell wrote in Animal Farm, "All pigs are equal, but some pigs are more equal than other pigs."

"Republicans have threatened Spitzer with impeachment if he doesn't resign within 48 hours. Wish the Dems had the guts in Washington."

The same Republicans are silent about the fact that Republican Senator David Vitter has admitted to paying hookers for sex.

Only in uptight, puritan America would this even register on the radar screen. No wonder Europeans laugh at us. Spitzer may be flawed but at least he has a functioning brain (well, most times, anyway). I'd be okay with Bush paying for sex with a sheep if he had half Spitzer's brain. Everyone casting stones in Spitzer's case probably would have wanted Thomas Jefferson impeached as well, but 18th century America understood the great divide between public and private life. Americans have become ridiculously sanctimonious.

Agreed. The same people calling for Spitzer to be lynched are most likely the same people who are just fine with Bush spending $12 billion a day on his sham war, while the US economy goes down the toilet. Bigger fish to fry in America than a guy who can't keep it in his pants. Please God, start focusing on the larger picture.

" Everyone casting stones in Spitzer's case probably would have wanted Thomas Jefferson impeached as well,..."

or JFK, RFK and half of all the politicians ever in office.

Does the Mann Act (you know, crossing state lines, etc.) ring a bell with you liberal nitwits trying to shift the blame from Spitzer to Thomas Jefferson and God knows who else? Oh forget it, must have been a Karl Rove plot. Unlike the Brattleboro fools and the rest of the leftists trash in Vermont trying to impeach a President for defending the country, the Feds and NY prosecuters just MAY have a felony here!

Jefferson traveled from Philadelphia to DC all the time, crossing state lines. You were probably his carriage boy then Bubba.

Bubba, I'm sure that you feel the same way about Republican Senator David Vitter's crime.

Or does the law only apply to Democrats?

repubs calling for impeachment if no resignation withing 48 hours. How about impeachment for "high crimes" elsewhere? BTW, Iran is next; Fallon forced to resign over Iran policy disagreement.

Did Vitter bring a hooker across state lines? What "high crimes" are you talking about, and please give me legal ones, not your imaged ones. What in hell does a military retirement have to do with Spitzer? Are you all products of union schools???

No, are you? Too vague a reference for you, Bubba?

Spitzer didn't "bring" a prostitute anywhere. She crossed state lines to meet him there.

So, did Spitzer neglect to cut his hooker huntin' short when he was told Bin Laden was determined to strike inside the US five weeks before 9/11/01, little factually-challenged fella?

Did he lie us into an unnecessary, unjust and unjustifiable war based on cooked intel in an effort to get to his hooker as soon as possible?

Did he have his flunky AG fix it to get him out of Jury Duty so he wouldn't have to reveal his DWI conviction during Voir Dire?

That's what I thought.

News flash: Little boneheaded-in-barre boy. Ya got bupkis.

What 4-5 charges has Rove been convicted of, moron?

In advance, I thought so.

New brain, same old jw.

Guys, I am no fan of condemning people because of sex, illicit or otherwise. And I was a huge fan of Spitzer, thinking he'd be a great prez candidate someday.

But unlike Clinton, he -- a former hard-nosed prosecutor -- knowingly and with premeditation violated the law. And no one had clarified yet whether he did it with state $$.

If you are going to be a carrie nation, you better be sure not to get caught sipping a little on the side.

He needs to resign just because he's so ******** dumb. Could we please someday figure out how to separate political power from sexual excess?

d

"Did Vitter bring a hooker across state lines?"

I don't know. But he has confessed to paying women for sex.

That is a crime.

It sure must bug you libs when one of your own is caught in some potentially illegal activity, particularly when with all the crap you throw at Tom Delay, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, and our President doesn't amount to a hill of beans! (Oh, I forgot - jw says Rove is guilty, even though not convicted of anything! Guess the lobotomy didn't take) In any case, if you've got a problem tell the liberal voters of New York who don't seem too happy with their soon-to-be-ex guv.

So you don't think that David Vitter should resign?

"So you don't think that David Vitter should resign? "

You're talkin' to the little bigot boy for Christ sake.

He doesn't think at all.

Post a comment.

Vitter will be judged next election by the people of Louisiana. Until then I don't think he is guilty of an impeachable offense. How about that creep Vermont Senator Flanagan? How much longer can his boyfriends in the dim party keep protecting him? ("Oh, I must have fallen asleep")

I loves the smell of nuked nitwit in the afternoon. It smells like the little bigot boy always does

"Vitter will be judged next election by the people of Louisiana. Until then I don't think he is guilty of an impeachable offense."

Nice try, little spineless, Anti-American-slime fella. No sale.

First of all, punk, you made it abundantly clear that you don't think at all in the chapter that starts off with "In the beginning," so stuff a sock in it. That gop-slop laden bigot barge sailed a long time ago, schmuck.

Secondly, Spitzer was up for reelection in 2010.

Apart from the fact that Spitzer put the interests of the State of NY, the Country, the law and his family ahead of himself and had the stones to step down while gops are above the law in your ignorant, neo-nazi-nitwit, coalition of the clueless cabeza point of view, what's the diff?

That's what I thought.

If you can make a case against Spitzer for something more than personal stupidity, make it.

That's what I thought.

"How about that creep Vermont Senator Flanagan? How much longer can his boyfriends in the dim party keep protecting him? ("Oh, I must have fallen asleep"

Ah, the ol' "let's change the subject and hope nobody notices 'cause I've got bupkis" song and dance, eh?

Nice try. I noticed. You're dumb, you're scum and ya got bupkis.

Pack up your bupkis in your old kit bag and board the local to Tuscaloosa, little bigot boy.

Your ignorant ass is unworthy of Vermont Life.

Scram.

yawn

Is there any truth to the rumor that E. Spitzer will be spending his summer vacation with Ted and the boys at the Kennedy Compound?

Along with Jim McGreevey.

Well, seein' how it's originating with your ignorant, white-supremacist ass, little bupkis boy, no.

Disintegrate.

JW,

"It was a slow day in the office so I shared a collection of your greatest hits with my business colleagues in China and Taiwan."
They reminded me that in their countries they have a way to deal with people with comments such as yours (it's not pretty) and said you should thank George Bush for protecting your right to make these postings."

So, in addition to being a criminally-incompetent liar, you're an unemployed nameless nitwit with bupkis reduced to spewing pathetically meaningless platitudes.

Thanks for clearin' that up, little fella.

Dear Einstein(that's you JW):

How does a slow day in the office equate to being unemployed. I know its an unfamiliar concept to you but, in the adult world, going to the office/being in the office is something you do when you go to work.

Unless of course you are framing it with your weekly trip to the unemployment office.

You are truly dense.

Also why would you reply to a posting on "Find your scissors"
on the Idiots Guide to Politics topic? Was it the natural attraction to the word idiot or are you just lost?

Nah, I just know the easiest place to find ya, little fella.

insightful jw as usual. Yawn!

Yawn!

Bupkis! Ignorant, ill-informed, factually-challenged, lyin'-scum, bupkis!

Yawn.....predictable, boring and trite.

It doesn't matter the time of day, you bring less facts than the sum total of all the anons you attacked.

Empty suit. Windbag.

Nice sheet, schmuck.

You're ignorant trash with bupkis, little fella.

You are not a serious person advocating a legitimate point of view. Serious people don't hold your views or embrace your bigoted-trash "philosophy."

You're simply factually-challenged, fundamentally-dishonest, bupkis-spewing, white-supremacist, Anti-American slime who's wasting oxygen better-utilized by human beings and other more evolved and far more-deserving forms of life.

The archives make it abundantly clear that that was a fact before I got here and that remains a fact today.

You're dumb, you're scum and ya like it that way.

Evaporate.

Thanks for the kind words but I still don't see any facts merely personal opinions and insults. Repeative and predictable as usual.

Blatherskite.

Now you're bupkis-spewin' ignorant trash who can't spell repetitive.

Good to see ya workin' in some new material, little fella.

Once again stealing my stuff. Earlier yesterday, I suggested you are feeling the pressure to find new material and that you were stealing mine.

Once again you prove me right. You steal my lines again.

Does the word plagarism have any meaning to you?

Anonymous...

"Does the word plagarism have any meaning to you?"

It means you still can't spell it let alone substantiate it.

You're ignorant trash incapable of thought, schmuck. The only thing you've established is the inability to spell plagiarism.

Those facts were never in dispute.

yawn

JW is a big supporter of the boys club

know what I mean ???????????

Yeah, you're ignorant trash with bupkis.

What's to get.
