State of State: Education (updated at 2:34 p.m.)

Here's an interesting one, 20 minutes into the speech: Governor says U.S. students aren't keeping up with students around the world in math and science ability. He says he'll ask the Board of Education to help student "implement more innovative science, technology, engineering and mathematics curricula." And he'll propose another $8 million in college scholarships and workforce training.

School choice

Some towns in Vermont give their kids a voucher - to be fair they all should.

To be fair, they ought to consolidate the school systems and fund them adequately.

"School choice" and "Local Control" is just Tunbridge Taliban talk for creationist crapolla, flat-earth bs, forced prayer and some Holocaust-Denying nitwits who don't want their 14 year-olds to see Schindler's List trying to bust the Teachers Union.

There's no choice if there's no money.

There's no education, either.

Ralph Wright nailed it 15 years ago when he said Teachers should be State Employees and their contracts negotiated accordingly.

Dismissed.

Teachers should be state employees
