Tehran connection

Media in Iran are turning their eyes to Vermont’s lone member of the U.S. House, freshman Peter Welch:

This report was in the Dec. 23 Tehran Times. A similar report aired Dec. 22 on PressTV, which describes itself as taking "revolutionary steps as the first Iranian international news network, broadcasting in English on a round-the-clock basis.

13 members of U.S. Congress call for direct talks with Iran

WASHINGTON (Reformer) – Representative Peter Welch is urging President
Bush to engage in "direct, unconditional and comprehensive" diplomacy with Iran.

The freshman Vermont Democrat cites a recent National Intelligence
Estimate, which determined that Iran has no nuclear weapons program. He also
says Iran had no weapons shipments to Iraq.

"The release of the National Intelligence Estimate… clearly
demonstrates that our nation’s differences with Iran can and must be resolved
diplomatically," Welch wrote in a letter to the president this week.

A report issued by UN nuclear watchdog Mohamed ElBaradei on November 8
confirmed the transparency of Iran’s nuclear program and said it found Tehran to
be generally truthful about key aspects of its nuclear history.

He was joined by Representative Peter DeFazio. So far, 13 House members
have signed onto the letter.

"We urge you to build upon the progress made by our own intelligence
agencies’ positive assessment of Iran’s responsiveness to diplomacy," he adds.
"It is time to begin direct, unconditional, and comprehensive negotiations with
Iran."

Welch spokesman Andrew Savage said the letter stems from the
congressman’s "profound distrust with the president, in particular on the issue
of Iran and foreign diplomacy."

Apparently the ambulance-chasing traitor Welch has been influenced by the scum occupying his office lately, now that he has decided to join the treasonous America-haters in Congress like DeFazio, McDermott, Stark, etc. Just another attempt to sand-bag our troops and foreign policy, but then again, what else is new in Vermont!

Certainly not the fact-free, gop-slop nonsense you're spewin', bubbles.

Looks like Santa stiffed your sorry sack 'goo, too.

Just for kicks and to get some fix on your degree of dementia, in your super fun site of a soul, precisely what is the factual basis for the nonsense in this or any other post you've ever coughed up, bubbles?

Take your time. You're not goin' anywhere.

Either is your warmed-over take back Vermont trash agenda.

Welch and company are traitors, pure and simple. Leave foreign policy to those that want to protect our country from the terrorist animals, not to the girly-men like poop's little playmates that still think sitting around a campfire holding hands and singing kumbaya is foreign policy. The only thing we need to be doing to terrorists that threaten us is to kill them all. No Guantanamos that way!

In other words, bubbles got bupkis.

Bubba,
What threat is Iran to the US??
Please explain in detail.
Thanks,
BBL

Well, in the unlikely event that he takes ya up on your request, that's the last we'll see of him 'til the first cut of hay is in the barn.

Bubba, you're postings are retarded.

jw, so you have something against farmers?

Bubba,

Please explain in detail what the Iranian threat is. It isn't enough to just say that they need to be destroyed.

I'm not attacking you ... I'm giving you the opportunity to move beyond the rhetoric and substantiate your claim.

-BBL

BFP - don't you have the ability to ban IP's on this thing?

"BFP - don't you have the ability to ban IP's on this thing?"

Relax, little fella. I don't think they should ban ya just 'cause you have nothing to say.

Not on the subject, but I am appalled at the comments allowed on the article related to Vermont growth in the paper itself. How are such ignorant biased racial comments allowed to stand without comment by the newspaper?

Anyone who recalls how we got into Iraq is certainly justified in distrusting the administration on Iran policy. They were listed as a part of the "Axis of evil" also and the administration is certainly pressing for war with Iran.

Iran has been working on nuclear arms for years. We have conflicting intelligence as to whether they have actually paused or are continuing on. Thanks to the Bush foreign policy they may be rethinking their plans to nuke Israel, and whoever else, just like Libya stopped when they saw what we were NOT AFRAID to do! Carry a BIG stick, morons, and it's amazing who backs down! Too bad the idiot Clinton didn't realize this - or was "too busy" entertaining - think of the lives that could have been saved! Is this too over your pinhead, poop?

"Iran has been working on nuclear arms for years. We have conflicting intelligence as to whether they have actually paused or are continuing on."

We do, eh? Nice try. The only thing we have is solid evidence that bush has been lying his sorry incompetent butt off all along about Iran, too.

"Thanks to the Bush foreign policy they may be rethinking their plans to nuke Israel, and whoever else, just like Libya stopped when they saw what we were NOT AFRAID to do!"

Ya mean like they did with they blew up Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie Scotland on 12/21/88, bubbles?

Refresh my memory, little fella. Who was President on 12/21/88 again? Which idiot replaced him?

That's what I thought.

"Carry a BIG stick, morons, and it's amazing who backs down!"

What was Reagan and 41 carrying, bubbles, a feather duster and some colorful language?

"Too bad the idiot Clinton didn't realize this - or was "too busy" entertaining - think of the lives that could have been saved!"

Well, let's see. There's the 259 on the plane and the 11 Lockerbie residents on the ground who were killed while Reagan was forgetting who his Secretary of Defense was and 41 was "out of the loop."

Here's a fun fact for ya, bubbles. Did ya know that on December 5, 1988 the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a security bulletin saying that on that day a man with an Arabic accent had telephoned the U.S. Embassy in Helsinki, Finland, and had told them that a Pan Am flight from Frankfurt to the United States would be blown up within the next two weeks by someone associated with the Abu Nidal Organization? He said a Finnish woman would carry the bomb on board as an unwitting courier.

Supposedly, the anonymous warning was taken seriously by the U.S. government. The State Department cabled the bulletin to dozens of embassies. The FAA sent it to all U.S. carriers, including Pan Am, which had charged each of the passengers a five-dollar security surcharge, promising a "program that will screen passengers, employees, airport facilities, baggage and aircraft with unrelenting thoroughness" (The Independent, March 29, 1990); the security team in Frankfurt found the warning hidden under a pile of papers on a desk the day after the bombing [4]. One of the Frankfurt security screeners, whose job it was to spot explosive devices under X-ray, told ABC News that she had first learned what Semtex was during ABC's interview with her 11 months after the bombing

On December 13, the warning was posted on bulletin boards in the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, and eventually distributed to the entire American community there, including journalists and businessmen. As a result, a number of people allegedly booked on carriers other than Pan Am, leaving empty seats on PA103 that were later sold cheaply in "bucket shops". PA103 investigators subsequently said the telephone warning had been a hoax and a chilling coincidence.

So, there's a bang up job done by your bone-headed heroes, bubbles.

Then there's the first WTC attack 5weeks into Clinton's first term. Fortunately, there were only 6 victims there and the perps were brought to justice.

Ya seen any Ramzi Yousef or Blind Sheik video tape greetings lately, bubbles?

Me either. Of course, that's bound to happen when you've got a competent, legitimate President in the White House.

"Is this too over your pinhead, poop?"

Nah, it's just one more thing to scrape off the bottom of my shoes with the rest of your ignorant, ill-informed gop-slop nonsense, bubbles.

Always a pleasure.

All 16 US Intelligence agencies agree that Iran hasn't had a nuclear weapons program for over 5 years.

There is no "conflicting intelligence".

There's no republican intelligence, period.

What? Nobody complaining about business climate with the closure of Customized Structures?

Even WCAX was drooling over the prospect of somehow blaming Vermont for this.

All 16 US Intelligence agencies agree that Iran hasn't had a nuclear weapons program for over 5 years -- so where is the threat??

We keep hearing Iran is the threat. Where is the threat?

The threat is in Pakistan (they have nukes!) The threat is in Afganistan. The threat is in Saudi Arabia (they have funded terrorst training camps.) The threat is in Egypt (they supplied the 9-11 terrorists.)

But somehow Bush wants us to think that Iran is the threat??? Nope. That's not logical.

jw sez: "There's no republican intelligence, period."

bubba sez: "Different generations, but liberals remain the total fools they always have been!"

No useful or helpful information conveyed here, by either poster. Just pointing fingers and calling each other names. This is why politics is in such a sorry state.

Perhaps - but I have history on my side. On the other hand, poop has only his leftist fantasy world in the dark recesses of his furnished room.

bubba has left a new comment on the post "Tehran connection":

"Figures. The last poster assumes because a country is a U.S. ally then they are the problem."

They did, eh? Where? When? How?

Pakistan is the problem, bubbles, because they actually have a number of bombs a larger, better-trained, US-equipped Army and a great deal of Civil unrest as we speak.

Perhaps you saw the news today? Evidently not.

"I have a picture of people like this in 1939 complaining about how Poland, Czechoslovakia, etc. are the real culprits and Hitler is NO THREAT!"

Oh, yeah. The one with Charles Lindbergh and the Gop establishment. I've got that picture, too.

"Different generations, but liberals remain the total fools they always have been! Neville Chamberlain in the 30's is no different than the dims/progs of today!"

Well, first of all, bubbles, it was the Gop-controlled Congress who kept the US out of WWII just as they had done during WWI with their Isolationist Policies so you obviously need to bone up on your US History, little fella.

Secondly, Neville Chamberlain, like Stanley Baldwin before him and Winston Churchill who succeeded him was a Conservative PM so, clearly, your grasp of British and World History is as feeble as your knowledge of US History.

So, once again, bubbles, you still appear to have difficulty discerning the difference between your sorry, ignorant, ill-informed butt and your elbow.

As always, bubbles, don't you go changin'. I loathe you just the way you are.

"The last poster assumes because a country is a U.S. ally then they are the problem.

The CIA has said that Saudi Arabia has funded terrorist training camps. Why are they our ally???

Saudi Arabia is a foe of democracy. Why are they our ally???

Such as?

"But Symington and Shumlin are both also in their second sessions as the leaders of their respective chambers of the Vt. Legislature and what have they done?"

"Absolute sh**, that's what."

Little fella appears to be getting in touch with his "loyal dues-paying" Democrat side.

OK, little fella. So far, you've established that you're disgusted with everybody for "behaving like children." and accomplishing nothing.

Ya care to elaborate?

Just who where and when did they do that and what did they fail to do that you would have had them do if you were Queen for a Day, little fella?

The floor is yours.

Let your "loyal dues-paying" Democratic side knock itself out.

You're not 0-everything, you're just riding the crest of a slump.

Nice try. No matter how ya look at it, bubbles, you're still 0-everything.

Dismissed.

You mean, the same Administration that used selective intelligence to start a war, and outed a CIA agent . . .

They probably had nothing to do with it. But the idea's not that far fetched.

Symington and Shumlin have got to go!

You loons need some new material.
