... Word has it that the House will vote on impeachment tomorrow. And that it probably will not have enough votes to pass.

... The Senate skipped over instant runoff voting today. If the vote ever happens (a growing question) it could be close.

... That tax on Vermont Yankee that Peter Shumlin proposed yesterday is going to generate quite a battle. Do not expect Entergy to go quietly into the good night on this.

... If you didn't get your paper, you should call the Circulation Department (1-800-427-3124).
If you're waiting for the mucky-mucks to read the blog postings, well, I just don't know how long that might be.

It's unfortunate that Symington has given in to the pressure but if it fails it will be nice to see many Democrats realizing how stupid this impeachment talk, and especially the resolution passed by the Senate, is.

Symington will be introducing a resolution to impeach Shumlin - payback for him throwing her under the impeachment bus.

She must not want to run for Governor like Shumlin - he has to play to his base even if he throws her under the bus ... what a team player!

Yes, he's trying to pander to his base ... but he's already lost their trust, after the many months of lies and insults.

The guy's a snake.

I hate Jim Douglas, but I'd vote for him before I voted for Shumlin.

Terri, as much as all of us in central VT enjoy our daily call to the Circulation Dept, we long ago figured out that it accomplishes nothing. All they offer to do is credit our account the 40 cents for the paper that did not arrive, failing to recognize that if we still wish to purchase the BFP it costs more than that!

Topic for discussion: the internet has turned the newspaper industry upside down, and some - especially those in the Gannett chain - are having big-time difficulties adjusting to the brave new world and will see circulation plummet. This will necessitate layoffs of staff (yes, including reporters). How long until we read on the BFP (online of course!) that a few dozen Freepers have been laid off? Methinks it will happen within the next 2 years . . .

Douglas would count his blessings if Zuckerman and Shumlin were in the race together.
