Bernie begins victory speech

Here's Bernie, greeting the jubilant crowd at Democratic headquarters at the Wyndham:

"I didn't do it. We did it! Let us be very clear that we would not have won tonight without the hard work of everyone in this room and the support of thousands of Vermonters. From bottom of my heart I want to thank you for the incredibly hard work and the people of vt. for the incredible support we are receiving. I am deeply grateful that the people of Vermont are allowing me to represent this great state in the U.S. Senate."

What a long strange trip its been.........

Won't Rush have fun with this one.

This will hopefully turn some heads in Washington and make people think. I hope Bernie will be the breath of fresh air he promises to be. Maybe we can make this country of byand for the people once again.

Represent us?! Is he out of his mind? I'm NOT a Commie Socialist. All he will represent are his rich sponsors from out of state. Vermont, may you reap what you have sown tonight. Maybe only personal experience will wake you up.

Better life with Bernie than some conservative wing-nuts who value wealth over people.

Well put there are better things to value than wealth!

Yes, but everyone should have the comfort of some dollars in their wallet, and change in their pockets. It costs so much to live here in Vermont. So many people work so hard for so little here in Vermont. While those of wealth and priviledge drive up property costs and taxes. Change is inevitable, but directable.

Our children can not even afford to purchase houses in their home towns and retirees can't afford their steep taxes, hopefully someone will aid in our relief!

You have families trying to stay together, its awful. Vermont has been losing landless sons and daughters since 1830, unfortunately not a recent problem, just one too big for any politician to try and tackle.

Thank you everyone who voted and made a difference!
