On the war front

Longtime Rep. Francis Brooks takes charge of the Statehouse tomorrow, in his new role as sergeant-at-arms. Friday, the second day of his new job, war critic Cindy Sheehan comes to visit, which is to say Brooks gets a full 24 hours to get comfortable on the job before managing a crowd.

Brooks, an outwardly calm and inwardly spiritual man, is looking to the heavans. A snowstorm is possible Friday, and it would suit him fine if it turned into a dandy. Of course, it's hard to imagine Brooks having a hard time keeping the peace. He did, after all, teach high school for many years.

Speaking of Sheehan's visit, Sen. Vince Illuzzi, whose committee is hosting her noontime Friday visit, was having trouble finding someone to offer the counterpoint to her points against the war. He said Tuesday afternoon, though, that the American Legion was planning to do it.

Comments:
Why doesn't Vince Illuzzi ask Rob Roper to speak in favor of the Bush policy in Iraq? Shouldn't the state chair of the Republican Party be prepared to speak up for his president? If Roper is unwilling or unavailable, how about Martha Rainville?

How about Jim Douglas? He prmoted Bush twice to all of Vermont. I would think the 2004 endorsement was an endorsement of the war, eh? Make this dweeb sweat for freakin' once about his choices.

Sheehan takes money from scum like Michael Moore to travel around the country disgracing her hero son. In my book, that fits the definition of whore to a "T".

Isn't South Carolina one of those southern red states y'all ship your grandparents to because the taxes and cost of living are so low? By the way, Tupelo, Ms just landed a huge Toyota plant that probably equals the gross national product of Vermont. Oh well, I guess the few native Vermonters left will just have to be content mowing lawns and shoveling snow for all those flatlander liberals whose greatest accomplishment in life is shutting down a snowmobile trail or a WalMart!

Bubba: Like most conservative hacks, you speak poorly, meaning you make no freakin' sense. Why wasn't your Governor lobbying for that Toyota plant. He had a chance this week when he slept over at GW's house. Wonder if he patted GW on the back and told him what a great president and leader he's been. Douglas could also tell GW how hard he worked to get him re-elected, so he could continue his f'd-upped war. Admit it Bubba. Ya done screwed up by putting all your eggs in GW's basket. Okay. Feel free to send back some rambling, incoherent rant now...

bubba hates Vermont.

I think he should go to Texas.

Texas has been looking for a new idiot since it's old one left 6 years ago.

Get Chuck Lacy to do it - he likes the counterpoint!

Symington for Governor in '08

I think bubba ia already in Texas.

You know Vermont is doing good when when you get texicans and other wingnut repubikans posting on VT sites.

Bubba loves pre-Kunin Vermont (for all of you flatlander "anonymous" scribblers, Madeleine Kunin was the worst Governor in Vermont history, even worse than Howie Dean.) About the time carpetbagger Kunin took over, so do the rest of the far-left idiots like Ralph Wright, Racine, etc. They were able to pack the Vermont Supreme Court, pass Acts60/68, force civil unions on the natives, and in general turn the state into a left-wing fairyland! Judging by most of the "anonymous" blogs I guess they succeeded!

Yeah, and "bubba" is so honest... How about posting your real name, address, phone number and e-mail address, Mr. Ballsy.

It was only the far right religious wignuts (yeah, Vermont has a few) that even cared about civil unions. These were the only people who felt that civil unions were being forced upon them. The fact is that Vermonters really don't give a rats ass what other folks do.

Bubba is one of those hypocritical "take back Vermont" weenies who on one side complains about tourism, flatlanders, and new Vermonters, but then has a job that is directly supported by these very same people.

Let me get this straight...someone who posts "anonymously" wants "Bubba" to give his real name...talk about hypocricy

"Let me get this straight...someone who posts "anonymously" wants "Bubba" to give his real name...talk about hypocricy"

Bubba, is that you?

No. You miss the point. I'll spell it out for you. Bubba was calling out "flatlander anonymous" posters. Anon-10:58 simply pointed out his hypocrisy.

While I would fall into the don't give a shit about civil unions category, this statement is wrong. Most of the opposition to civil unions came from that part of the state (Northeast Kingdom) which has been least-affected by the influx of those from other states. I have no idea with other people coming to live here and expressing their opinions. I just like the truth.

Right, but political leadership in NEK was made up of far right leaning wingnuts. Vermonters, whether republican or democrat, don't give a rats ass what other folks do.

I agree that there's some truth to that. I would also point out, though, that a lot of those TAKE BACK VERMONT signs were on the barns of what most would consider typical Vermonters.

Correct. The last bastian of real Vermonters was the NEK which now barely resembles traditional Vermont and even has sent "progressive" legislatures to Montpelier. Their concerns and worse fears has been more than born out by the moral degeneracy, crime, and drugs brought to this state by those leftists that are so proud to have Bernie Sanders as their leader.

Bubba...a.k.a. "The Puritan"...has spoken. Have you ever considered Mormanism bubs? Christians and conservatives are hooked on the same drugs as the dems, with the exception maybe of the Catholic young boy thing. And Ted Haggerty. He was quite the moral compass, eh bubs? Seems the right-wingers are as polluted as everyone else. Where you gonna run to bubs?

Ted Haggerty? Bad, bad. Like the head of the Virginia ACLU, now charged with child molestation, porno. But you won't read about it in the Free Press or NY Times! That's because the ACLU protects child molesters like NAMBA. As long as it's anti-American or degenerate, you can bet the ACLU supports it!(If you doubt me, GOOGLE Virginia ACLU to find the true story)

For some reason, I fully expected Bubba's commentary to reduce to plain homophobia.

You are what you eat Bubba, and in your case, that's Saltines.

Bubba demonstrates the great thing about the freedom of speech:

Sooner or later the stupid people identify themselves. Their stupid ideas drift to the bottom and the serious people of the world win.

There are some left wing democrats
that do not care for the way we deal with child molesters.

Occasionally a courageous liberal has guts enough to stand up to the far-left owners of the democrat party, but it is few and far between. Look what happened to Joe Lieberman when he supported American troops fighting terrorism! Because the ACLU and other far-left wackos dominate the leadership of the democrat party, nothing is ever done to child molesters, as recently evidenced in Vermont. Only when someone like Bill O'Reilly makes it an issue does anything happen, and then only for fear of a tourism backlash throughout the country.

Bubba isn't for real. He's just a parody.

(parody is a big word for Bubba. Perhaps his mother will help him look it up in the dictionary.)
